Not challenged for that ridiculous and misleading analogy by the Newsnight presenter. When did the BBC stop calling out this rubbish. Paxman would have had idiotic fascists like Tice for dinner

The BBC can’t be seen to be biased by going around checking facts. Each loon must have the same amount of time to spout their opinions. In fairness, it’s a localised issue within the BBC. Newsnight is often poor these days, the Today Programme worse and QT the pits. Ross Atkins does some good stuff under the ‘BBC Verifies’ banner. It’s a shame they don’t apply that rigour to their other politics programmes, but then they seem more interested in providing light entertainment than anything more informative. Does the BBC still have that Tory part donor, Robin something or other, in charge of monitoring bias?

Robbie Gibb, who was Theresa May’s director of comms. He was the one that Maitlis spoke out about after she left the BBC to say he vetted what they were doing and blocked anything not pushing things rightward.

That's the fellow. Seemed like the mother of all political appointments. Have labour got rid? I appreciate that the difficulty of doing that would that they would be in danger of making, or appearing to make, a similarly egregious political appointment.

Newsnight is awful at the moment. It just allows cranks to spout nonsense unchecked. The interview with Douglas Murray last week was embarrassing. I hate to say it but Iain Dale does a much better job of calling out lies on his show. [Post edited 30 Apr 2025 10:02]

He balances his time between the UK and Dubai, given his wife has moved there to avoid the Labour school fees hike. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/ne https://londondaily.com/reform Clearly, the family must be struggling financially with Tice down to his last £10 million.
