Just chewing the fat, so don’t shout lol. I thought he’d be phenomenal this season, but he’s been a bit off it so far this pre-season imo. I’d like to see more from him, but then maybe my expectations are too high. Based on what I’ve seen, I’d put Broady in ahead of him (which could work a lot better if Philogene is going to play on the left, as Broady’s much more of a creator).

He's learning the right side. His whole game has been a bit 1 dimensional cutting in from left for Sunderland
But he's a quality player and McKenna will make it work.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

Yeah, he’s being asked to do a job quite different to his Sunderland role. I hope you’re right. I’m not righting him off, but want (more hope really for his sake) to see him start to fly.

I think learning another position will be really important for him as I think he’s a bit predictable when hes on the left. Wally good for his development, and the ideal time to give it a go.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

Yes totally how I read your post. You could see how desperate he was when cutting in but Aberdeen crowded him out. A couple of things go for him and you could see him come alive. Fingers crossed.

His close ball control and running at players look great. Just needs to start linking up with other players and getting the goals and assists that he was getting at Sunderland. I think he is a player that will suddenly click. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

You can see how much he wants it. Once he gets going I’m sure he won’t look back. He just lacking a bit of confidence by the looks of it and trying to do a bit too much.

I knew as soon as I saw the title, it was going to be a "Broadhead should be ahead" thread. So predictable.

Its all about development isn't it. And these youngsters are having to do it in the glare of CC league games ( and in PL games last season), not easy.

I know you posted this quite early on but hope you've changed your mind since then.

Clarke was excellent. Pressed incredibly well. Broke up play. Got us driving forwards and sprayed around some excellent passes ( albeit some slightly bad ones)

a niche perspective
