Ambivalent?

Positive given the obvious benefits of helping new musicians get a foot on the ladder and the possibility of, occasionally, finding a gem.

Or fecking tedious and annoying, especially when not advertised so you get in on time hoping there isn't one and then wish you hadn't.?

Positive.

Love a good support act.

Discovered some of my now favourite bands as support.

And it makes a gig a lot more interesting as a lot it of bands don't have that navy good songs for a whole evening

discovered lots of bands I really liked because support acts, who Id never have known about.

thesedays though most venues publish times, and names of them so you get an idea if you want to turn up early or late.

The best band I discovered as a support act was Del Amitri in the early nineties. They were supporting Bryan Adams at Wembley Stadium. By far the best act there, and I am still a huge fan to this day. Bryan? Meh...

One that springs to mind was Skunk Anansie supporting Senser in Manchester … comedy wise I’m sure Simon Pegg was the warm up/support for Steve coogan ? Oh and Andy de la tour for Rik Mayall both in Ipswich
