Our captain, galvanising force, has been relegated in his last 2 seasons and before that finished 9th with a West Brom parachute team

Something’s got to give

He's not a leader or even a great defender to be honest. Wolfy has a point.

He didn't even want to come here in the first place, was twerking for Brentford until they realised he wasn't good enough for them.

Has shown himself to be average at best and is somehow our captain despite having no leadership skills at all.

Worst captain in my lifetime by a long stretch

It’s fair enough people Wanting to be positive, and trust the process, but performances like that, are hard to defend, especially when it’s your captain, your captain should be smashing through players, putting his life on the line, between him and greaves, wow, absolutely shocking defending, Davis was woeful as well, Ashley young wasn’t great, but he’s 40, and still
Pissed over those three.

I don’t see what McKenna sees in either OShea or Greaves. Switching Burgess and Wolfie for them has been a disaster and they’ve now had over a season together to get it right.

I’m convinced he’s told he has to play them. The club paid £40m for them and need a return on the investment whether it’s performances on the pitch or resale value (which is only going to drop if they’re sat on the bench).

Both would improve us significantly.

Sounds like politics to me

Yup, I’ve said this since last season.

A serial loser.

It’s odd though as he looked good last year. I can’t remember any errors from him leading to goals whereas he’s come down a level this season & you can put 2 down to him at least.

Evans out

I'm not normally one for being overtly critical but O'Shea is not endearing himself to me. For the second game running he has been absent and pretty silent on the pitch. No galvanising the team like Morsy would have done. Maybe we had it with Morsy and his superb leadership but he got the team working together and O'Shea doesn't seem to have any of that at the moment.

I've been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but in my opinion he isn't a captain. When things turn against us, apart from the fact he's usually involved, he just shrinks into himself. He gives the ball away SO often in places which put us in real trouble. It's difficult to be a good captain when you're the one regularly dropping the ball.

Can you imagine Morsy out there tonight? Would never have let the team crumble like that.

Not got the minerals for it. Gave it big licks in the team huddle pre Norwich then gave the ball away under no pressure 3 times in the first 10 minutes. Not a defender who can do what we need
