| Hotels that overlook stadiums. 12:05 - Apr 13 with 1351 views | MattinLondon | A couple hotels overlook some football grounds - for example there’s an Holiday Inn that overlooks carrot Road and is the most modern building in that vicinity. Has anyone ever found themselves watching a sporting event from such a hotel? Either by chance or by design. The nearest that I’ve come to this is watching Worcestershire cricketers train from a Premier Inn bar that is right next door to the cricket ground. | | | | |

Last time we went KMc was pacing out the pitch dimensions when the ground was virtually empty. Which showed us his attention to detail in preparation. It is a lovely hotel as well, the staff were brilliant especially as they were awaiting the sale of the club at the time and not knowing if they would be sacked at short notice. |
Great view from the room. Shame about the shutters coming down when the game is on.

When Town were on a pre-season tour of Denmark 20-ish years ago the squad stayed there as well as playing a friendly at the stadium. Some may recall that they had a particularly flash ground for a club of their size as the local mayor had funnelled cash into it illicitly and ultimately did time for that among other similar indiscretions.

Not if you have a match ticket, either from Town or from Bolton, you can enjoy the match from the warmth of your room. You are still not allowed to have a beer mind. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

B n b rooms looking over the cricket pitch. Depths of winter, but I sat in my room visualising Botham and Willis going nuts in 81’!

And in Castleford they have tigers and in Leigh they have Leopards. Double hard up north to survive that.
