Completely agree. No doubt this fella has great potential but it would be very risky appointing someone with very little experience. Big difference appointing KM in League One.

Much better than we did against many of the bigger teams 2 yrs ago. Had we not gone up he would be my choice. Can’t say I’ve seen a better British name suggested so I hope Ashton unearths a foreign gem.

For me it would depend a bit on who came in as his number two and coaching staff. If that were to be someone with significantly more experience (particularly at Prem level) then I think you can reduce the risk to a large extent. Steve Holland is getting quite a bit of quiet credit for how well Carrick is doing at United.

And he hasn't been around that long to have the knock backs the others have. He could be another Kieran, but he could be a disaster. If it's obvious that he can't save us from relegation, but has shown enough he's building something then I'd be happy to stick by him. I know staying up is the goal, but I wouldn't be too unhappy if we went down but showed promise for the next season.

I genuinely think a case could be made for most possible appointments because of the situation we find ourselves in. Massive rebuild required even if Kieran stayed. There's going to be so much change, as long as we don't do a Derby, I think a case can be made for a new up and coming manager in a similar mold to McKenna, an old head who will be pragmatic like Dyche, or a foreign manager who has been successful abroad like a Glasner or Iraola. I can see why we would go with OGS but i think he's more of a man manager than a decent coach. I'll support whoever, I just don't want Gary O'Neil or Liam Rosenior.

Yeah, had we failed to go up then I could have seen it in the Championship. It’s a huge jump. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t work of course, but it would be a very risky option. It just depends where his ceiling is. He could take off over the next few years and us regret not jumping in now. This is where MA really earns his money based on a judgement call after speaking to his shortlist (hich BBM may or may not be on of course).

| Thing about BBM is he played till a late age… on 20:58 - Jun 15 with 1031 views | unstableblue | He only finished playing at 40 in 2018 at Rochdale And has only been in management 7 seasons 2 then as coach at Rochdale - not that successful Then a highly successful period as the manager of the Manchester City Elite Development Squad. He did have a short stint helping Ruud at Leicester But Cardiff you could say is his first proper gig. Still suggest he’s too much of a gamble. League 1 versus Prem is vast. He’s not a draw for the £30-40m players we need. But he does come across well. | |

And he'll know exactly who the boss is and who's club he's managing. It's nailed on!
