As we know, fans are generally over emotional and irrational.

The key for me is that the Wolves hierarchy were happy to take him back after he was sacked, that kinda speaks volumes.

Now his appointment has been confirmed. It matters not what he did in the past its what he does for our club.

We know that from this forum, and I include myself in that,
I'm trying to stay positive in my lane now,

To be fair I think the overwhelming majority of us were all of the same opinion, underwhelmed, uninspired, not excited, but we are where we are, and as time has gone on and you read more about him, you can see why the appointment was made, there is logic to it.

Proof will be in the pudding, arguably and more importantly, recruitment will decide our fate, over to you Mark.

Ashton and O'Neil need to review their information security and which third parties they're using, if some random bod on a Wolves message board seems to know intimate details of the hiring process which weren't even being reported on here.

I would put very little into that.

He oversaw a pretty tough time for the club that was ultimately the fault of the ownership.

The reality is that BlueCo saw through that stint and still employed him to play a really important role in their wider business. That should please us all much more than the thoughts of a few bitter Wolves fans who guess what? Dislike nearly all the managers since Nuno left in 2021.

Well, they’re on their 12th manager since kicking out McCarthy in 2012. The result? The Championship and the jury is out whether they will be promoted or do a Leicester next season.

They (West Brom supporters call them Dingles and not in an affectionate way) have plenty of choices to exercise their feelings over.

Assume he means third page in from GreenoakWolf:

'That's not true, he was approached 3 and a half weeks ago, he had a family holiday, representatives from Ipswich went to France last Monday for a meeting, O Neil wasn't happy with some of the terms offered, they had another meeting on Friday night, the deal was agreed then and announced today, no other offers were or have been on the table from any other Premier league club'

Poster Greenoakwolf in various places on that thread.

I was also being slightly sarcastic.

I'm afraid no one is going to change my opinion of the appointment, I think we have Paul Lambert Mk 2. I was struck by virtually the first things he spoke about in the presser were how well he had done and his achievements. a confident person doesn't normally do that.

What were you expecting him to say? "I'm woeful and really lucky to get this gig"

He's talking about what he has done previously that is similar to our situation, hardly showing arrogance, just reiterating the point that he has solid experience with teams fighting to stay in the PL.

Out of interest, who was your pick?

I would have liked Thomas Frank but he has ruled himself out of work for the time being.

Even if he wasn't having a break, he has far bigger aspirations than us.
