Town have dismissed this morning's newspaper report claiming that manager Roy Keane was set to be sacked as "complete and utter rubbish".

A club spokesman said: "Roy was given the owner’s full backing last month and nothing at all has changed since then."

that story came from the daily star and they had the cheek to say we are a norfolk club.

I love Ipswich to pieces and can't stand seeing us in this position.
Have wanted Keane to do well since day 1 (I'm sure we all have) but his time must be up pretty soon...
He has a fortune of £27M which leads me to think his heart might not be in the job (having no real financial gain). Some might say "But he has his reputation to protect"...that boat sailed long ago, he's put too much pressure on himself ("I'd like to get promoted in 1 season") which lead him to put too much pressure on our players.
Maybe the time has come for change..my choice (from the sacking of Jim) for ITFC manager was Curbishly and would even like to see Coppell at this stage.
I think Keane can manage a club....a Rugby Club that is.
But as long as he is at the collapsing helm I'll support him and the club, and pray we can climb the table....but it needs to be done Saturday!..not around Xmas, not around New Year- Saturday! If we don't get a run of 3/4 win's soon (no matter who we play, we've had chances) then bye bye Keano.
COME ON IPSWICH !!!

I will just take notice of the first three words of this headline and pretend that Keane is gone and the nightmare is over.

Mmmmm, winning games is nice.

Facts - 1) Keane has managed to get us ONE win by the end of November 2) He has fallen out with numerous players and has not setteled on who he wants and doesn't want to play for ITFC 3) He has now upset the whole of the Irish FA with his insensitive outburst. Had it been any other manager, he would have been sent packing by nolw ! I believe he should Go before he causes more grief . I read with interest those who still support him but fail to understand what he has brought to the club apart from his disharmony and poor results

Chambers I don't think ex army would be scared of Keano.
Thetruth, well written post.
What CGS and Dirtydingus dont understand is that I will get behind WHOEVER is the Ipswich manager and the players because I love Ipswich Town and feel that negativity breeds bad performances.
I just wish these knockers would just get down to PR before they keep churning out their sh1te.

Pickles agree about whoever is manager i would back, and i have said this many times, just seems no-one ever listens, its like selective deafness.

I guess taht answers a question posed many posts ago, why do i continue to give Keane support?
Well its because he is our manager, and even if Satan himself was our manager, i would support him. (bet Satan wouldnt get half the bad press RK does!!! lol)

b*ll*x

Injured - about us not bein able to attract a striker - we have spent as much money as anyone in the championship to say we cant attract a good enough striker is a load of rubbish. There have been loads out there that we have missed out on.

Question - Pickles, Injured and whoever else. If we lost our next two games (which to contrary belief I do not want to happen) leaving us rooted bottom of the championship by 6points, would you want Roy Keane to go?

pickles110564 added 20:21 - Nov 23
CGS the answer is still no, he has been given a two year contract to pick the club up by its bootlaces and he will achieve it.

UEFA81 added 20:31 - Nov 23
PIckle's answer is insanity imo. He couldn't give a toss about the club, that's obvious from such a stupid remark.

Thats poor pickles - we would be that far in the sh*t and you would still want him around! Your crazy!

Who said he had to come here and 'pick the club up by its bootlaces', surely all he had to do was build on a top half team?

KEANE OUT

Where are some of you keane devotees getting your stats from?..
You state 99% of fans are behind him???...Is that why so many were booing on saturday at the final whistle?..Is that why there are so many on here today ecstatic in the hope that this story has some truth in it & we'll all get put out of our Keane misery?

Why are you all so obsessed with keeping this prize numpty on?..Is it because he's a "big" name & you're desperate for ITFC to have a big name manager?

Come on - time to give us some serious answers.

UEFA81, ROFL.
CGS, Shame you did not watch last season's Southampton game you would have seen how poor the so called top half team played against their youth side.
Lightningboy, Not one person shouted Keane out or stayed behind in protest.

That was one game, we finished in the top half, we won alot more games than we lost.

We was a point off the playoffs.

End of

As i posted yesterday i believe alot of peoples minds may be made up in the next 3 games. Cardiff away, realistically will probably come away with nowt. Bristol City away we may, may get a point. Then it's P'boro at home which is vital for us to get 3 points, vital. If we don't then i am very worried that we are going to be, depending on other results, in a position that really is going to take something special to get out of because its all well and good if our fortunes turn but we also have to hope that others lose as many as we win. I'm not being negative but i believe realistic. I'm also not an anti Keaner, nor normally do i believe in changing managers every 3 months when i see other clubs doing it, but after those 3 matches if they have'nt gone our way even the staunchest of Keane fans must surely start to take stock?....On a different thought, does anyone think that story came from/ a mate of the bloke whos phone went of at the press conference on friday! haha!

CGS might as well have been 100 points off, Jim failed again.
We have not lost in six games! But I am a bit worried now that Wrighty could be back in goal, can not afford too many more grey hairs every time that the opposition attacks or get a corner.
Hopefully all they will do will hit shots before Wrighty haqs any time to think about options.

Not one Person? You mean your ears are so good that you could clearly hear what every individual was saying? That's really something mate - are you sure you're not Superman?

So ur saying that cos wrighty is back we mite lose, ur only saying that because that is the excuse Keane would use. You really do love him

If Marcus Evans & Clegg hired Keane as some sort of PR exercise then surely they can see it's backfired big time - Keane has been a total disaster & brought nothing but negativity to the club..is that the sort of publicity that they crave?

Believe me,i'm not a fan who craves instant success ( I follow Ipswich for God's sake) and I'm not one who wants to chop & change managers - we've never done that up until the 2000's..If I thought Keane was here for the long run - and I mean longer than the next 18 months of his contract - then i'd have a little more faith..but to me the day he took over and started mouthing off that he was going to do this and that he lost me totally - It's been all about Roy Keane since day 1..like he's on his own personal little mission to prove people wrong...he said he hadn't come here to win any friends - no sh1t sherlock.

In contrast I was never a fan of Joe Royle until the day he took over - but he completely won me over in the way he spoke of the great pride he had in being given the chance to manage us & the big guy looked thrilled to bits too.

Chalk & cheese the pair of them.
