QPR Suspend Magilton
QPR Suspend Magilton
Wednesday, 9th Dec 2009 12:11

Former Town boss Jim Magilton has been suspended by QPR pending an investigation into the incident involving midfielder Akos Buzsaky after their defeat to Watford earlier in the week. Magilton is reported to have headbutted the Hungarian.

A QPR statement released this morning said: “The club can confirm that manager Jim Magilton has been suspended with immediate effect, pending an internal investigation.

“The suspension relates to an incident which occurred at Monday's Championship fixture against Watford at Vicarage Road.”

Magilton joined the R’s in the summer having been sacked by the Blues in April. The Northern Irishman, assisted by John Gorman as he was in his latter days at Portman Road, has taken the London club to 12th in the Championship table.

Well under RK and also after spending a lot of money we have 2 wins out of 20. I think if you compare this with Jim's record both here and at QPR Jim has done much better. I do not suggest we get him back but those who criticised (i) Big Joe (who had no money to spend) should now regard him as a genius and (ii) Jim should now regard him as having done a decent job. Maybe RK will do better in due course but to date it is pretty terrible. If we are still in the bottom 3 at Xmas it will time to think what to do next. In that event, sadly we have a chief exec and owner with none and little respectively experience of running/owning a football club. And the Rhodes sale shows that they know nothing of the culture and history of the Club.

First the boot of Fergie, now the head of Jim. Don't approve of violence, but there has to be a dam good reason for someone getting assulted like this.

Well, there's a massive difference between losing your temper and doing something a bit stupid in the spur of the moment and holding a childish grudge for 4 years...

All speculation at the moment anyway.

No Truth i would not want Jim back i think he took us as far as he could but do not believe he should be slated even his worst run in charge of us was not as poor as the position we are in now .
Peterboro are a poor side who will go down, we have now played them twice and lost and drawn so we are improving slightly . But the facts remain we have played Derby,Sheff Weds and Posh in last three home games and managed 1 goal against the sides with the worst form away record in recent games .
2 wins in 22 games this season ,fewest goals scored for many seasons ,7 million spent on improving the attack .
Rather than saying how crap Jim was perhaps it shows how hard the job is ?

Ok so this is speculation about the headbutt, however if the report is true in that Jim was giving the team a bollocking for the poor performance and he asks Buszacky do you think this is acceptable to which the reply is ' whatever', it might just tip me over the edge. Quite evident the QPR team dont care.Player power my a**se. Anyway , still a naughty boy Jim.

I heard that Priskin tried to headbut Keano after the peterborough game but missed him by two feet!

Bluepeter great stuff!

Wish some people could take a joke a little bit more! I am grateful for everything Jim did here, but still find this story just a little bit funny! Sorry for having a sense of humour

A good decision, and hopefully this will at last put to bed the 'bring back Jim' rubbish spouted by a few this year. The man is a poor manager and yet again as the going gets tough Jim let's himself down.

Keane is conducting himself well under the circumstances.

Jim was a failure at Ipswich - about time some realised that and moved on (before anyoe says it, I will gladly take the failure comment back, if indeed I was dreaming and he did deliver a top 6 place in the three seasons he had at the club . . . no didn't think so).

UEFA81 - Different yes, however both are unacceptable, stop trying to make one worse than the other.

The board at QPR are a joke, they have totally unrealistic expectations and so do their fans. QPR have been a bit up and down so far this season, but theres still nearly two thirds of the season to go. Jim has obviously had a moment of madness due to the ridiculous level of pressure he is under:- two bad results back to back and now this has been jumped on as way to get Jim out and not have to pay him off. I don't remember the QPR fans calling for Jim's head when they were on a run and scored 18 goals in 6 games. Look at what QPR did to Sousa after just five months. Thankfully we here at Ipswich give a manager time to put a team together and deliver results, rather than just jump from one knee jerk reaction to the next in the hope of a quick fix. Thats the way to truely become a laughing stock.

How can this be sorted out? The Harry Hill way, of course. Jim Magilton in from the door at stage left, Tony Pulis in from the door at stage right. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT -

Surco, were did you get 7 million from for improving the attack? Last count Priskin only cost 1.7 million and the rest of the buys weren't to bolster the attack but the midfield.

I think if the stats are spot on and we did have 18 efforts last night and 21 on Saturday then a few players need to start holding their hands up and admitting they're not doing what they're paid for. If our strikers aren't good enough or on form and there aren't any on the market, what's a manager to do?

I personally think someone will get a hammering soon and i'm hoping it's Blackpool this saturday as they've shipped a fair few away from home seeing as we're creating plenty.

6 goals at home is p**s poor but i saw a stat saying we'd had the most shots on target in the championship the other day!! Now who's to blame with stats like that? Keaneo? Don't think so. I think we can blame him in part for Priskin, and maybe John in time, but not for Walters, Counago and Stead. Probably unfair to put Wickham in that bracket. If i was Priskin i'd be running myself into every inch of the pitch trying to open my league tally with that price tag but at the moment he looks very disinterested and for that he should shoulder a lot of the blame.

Please, please, please no more Rhodes comments, christ. Pure speculation at whether he could do it in the championship so stop pointing the finger at that as the likely reason for our drought as its got no substance what so ever.

Fingers crossed on Saturday one hits the back of the net early so we can put the tangerines to the sword.

Leave Jim a lone we all have moments of madness, however i feel for him if he looses his job as he has done well for QPR. Remember him as the good ITFC player and rookie manger. Hope it works out for you Jim.

Perhaps Jim was showing Buzasky that he wanted him to braver and "put his head in where it hurts"?! If it is true i cant see him staying there and even if it isnt i feel the damage is done. Ferguson and Clough may have got away with thumping players or kicking boots at them before but they were top managers who were at the time indespensible to their clubs, i dont think Jim fits that criteria. Would be a shame if this ended his career

London papers are saying it is almost impossible that he will keep his job.
No suprise, this is what happened at Ipswich, he fell out with all players and they did not want to play for them!
I loved Jim as a player, as a manager not so much! He has got no man management skills.
We have gone 9 games unbeaten, Jim never nearly achieved that from what I remember... could be wrong of course. Okay only 2 wins however it is down to our strikers, Priskin should get out he doesn't care. Jon Stead scored 14 last season, that's not bad. Once either start banging them in or we get a natural goalscorer then we won't be anywhere near the bottom! People have a go at Keane for selling Rhodes but he wasn't given his chance to really shine by Jim so they are both at fault.

Come on Town!
