Town Back in White
Town Back in White
Wednesday, 23rd Dec 2009 14:22

Town will wear a special white kit at Crystal Palace on Boxing Day (KO 1pm). Both the blue home shirt and the red away one clash with the Eagles' red and blue stripes.

The Blues will also wear the third kit for the game at Scunthorpe when it is rearranged and are also likely to use it again next season.

The club are not making the white shirt available for purchase.

club are saying it's not for sale so that when they do release it they can say they're listening to the fans. modern football marketing 101.

Didn't we use this one a couple of years ago and that time they did sell it as a limited edition? I'm sure I bought one and its still in its bag somewhere....

I hate the red kit and that one is equally as poor.

Bring back the Abbot Ale Cream striped kit. Beautiful.

well blue blood, you and me both,
just had to shout the wife to ask if she knows where my white shirt was,
her reply in a carrier bag, upstairs back of wardrobe!

that was a couple of hundred well spent!

Another vote to sell the kit, sort it out Town and get it on sale!

Oh and to a previous comment, why would this kit run out at the end of the season? It's only just been created, and is based around our home kit design which still has another season left in it?

Right ok, so Palace play Barnsley last week and Barnsley can play in their red but ipswich cant? There kit is mainly blue anyway with only a bit of red.............Having said that I quite like the white kit!

Oh and I while I'm thinking of it, anyone looking for stocking fillers for town fans, I've gone and bought my fellow town fans in the family Some Sir Bobby Robson Foundation wristbands from the club shop. £1 each and the cash goes to a good cause. Well worth it for a great man and charity.

Nice design shirt but would look far better with blue instead of red on it.

Should play in skins!

Hate to spoil the party but all-white is invariably an unlucky strip for Town - 1981 FA Cup Semi-Final as the best example. We virtually never get a good result in it and it should be banned from Ipswich. Having said that, I truly hope to be proved wrong and that we thrash Palace.

it has to be our new away shirt nxt year

In response to us not playing well in white, didn't we win that game at Palace 4-3 a few years back in our all white kit?

I know it's only one result but a memorable one none the less!

I just watched the highlights of Palace at home to Barnsley. Barnsley played in red shirts so what's the problem?

If they insist on a white shirt it should be with black shorts - the kit that won an FA Cup semi-final!
