Garvan Fee Agreed
Garvan Fee Agreed
Tuesday, 27th Jul 2010 09:29

Town and Crystal Palace have agreed a £225,000 fee for midfielder Owen Garvan. Former Blues boss George Burley is a long-time admirer of the former Irish U21 international skipper, who was amongst the eight players made available by Town earlier in the summer.

The 22-year-old has already been at Selhurst Park for talks regarding personal terms and a two-year deal has been agreed, but the Blues academy product is still considering whether to leave the club he joined as a 16-year-old.

Meanwhile, Alex Bruce could still move to Sheffield United later this week, despite the deal stalling yesterday. Reports in South Yorkshire claimed the deal was off, but the switch is still likely to go through, probably later in the week.

The clubs are yet to agree the terms on which the central defender will move to Bramall Lane, but it is likely that an agreement will be reached. Bruce is understood to have already held talks regarding his contract with the Blades.

Keane ! You are clueless ! I agree wth the above comment . All I'm surprised at is that Keane is being allowed to dismantle the team . Burley must be overjoyed having both Ambrose and Garvan - both able to create chances . ITFC is becoming /will become a laughing stock ! I just dread how long it will take to bring about a "football "team again once KEANE GOES !

good luck garvan,
now lets get rid of the other players that are too nice and allow the team playing us too much time on the ball, that always destroys us. and hello premier.

bedsitfc - it should be the other way round ( ref: Spain World cup champions ! ) . We need players who can pass and keep the ball not hoofers who lunge into tackles , give away free kicks and penalties and generally should be playing on the park . Quality passing with sharpness in the box wins the game ! ( not bootcamp tactics and thuggery .NB KEANE !)

Ozzydog; you ask who the better judge of player is, well Burley signed Finidi George for a whopping £3.3m and Sereni for, wait for it, £4.5m, and that was 9 years ago so imagine what he'd have paid now. Does that answer you're question? I'm not saying Keane is any better, but you seem to think that Burley is some kind of genius.

Will be a shame to see Garvan go, but for the sake of his career he needs to play for a manager that knows the meaning of good football. So good luck to him. The ones I feel sorry for are US, the supporters, another season of running around like headless chickens showing lots of character as we get played off the park by teams that actually pass the ball to each other before slotting it in the net.
Keano, please go now, you have done enough damage already.

I'm going to the doctors in the morning to ask for some Prozac. I have never been this depressed at the beginning of a season.

£225,000 for Garvan? A derisory sum.
