Town and Crystal Palace have agreed a £225,000 fee for midfielder Owen Garvan. Former Blues boss George Burley is a long-time admirer of the former Irish U21 international skipper, who was amongst the eight players made available by Town earlier in the summer.

The 22-year-old has already been at Selhurst Park for talks regarding personal terms and a two-year deal has been agreed, but the Blues academy product is still considering whether to leave the club he joined as a 16-year-old.

Meanwhile, Alex Bruce could still move to Sheffield United later this week, despite the deal stalling yesterday. Reports in South Yorkshire claimed the deal was off, but the switch is still likely to go through, probably later in the week.

The clubs are yet to agree the terms on which the central defender will move to Bramall Lane, but it is likely that an agreement will be reached. Bruce is understood to have already held talks regarding his contract with the Blades.

Burley must be overjoyed having both Ambrose and Garvan - both able to create chances . ITFC is becoming /will become a laughing stock ! We need players who can pass and keep the ball not hoofers who lunge into tackles , give away free kicks and penalties and generally should be playing on the park . Does that answer you're question? I'm not saying Keane is any better, but you seem to think that Burley is some kind of genius.

The ones I feel sorry for are US, the supporters, another season of running around like headless chickens showing lots of character as we get played off the park by teams that actually pass the ball to each other before slotting it in the net. Keano, please go now, you have done enough damage already.
