Town boss Roy Keane says he is not concerned that striker Tamás Priskin has yet to score during pre-season. The Hungarian international missed a number of opportunities at Bury Town on Wednesday, but his manager is pleased with the former Watford man’s general play.

Keane said: ”I’m delighted with Tamás, he’s come back, he’s got a new lease of life, we’ve told him he will be given his chance and I thought he played well at Bury.

“As I said before, it was just that final ball, but that will come. You’re not going to get that after three or four weeks, particularly the attacking players because the hardest part of football is putting the ball in the back of the net.

“Aside from the one or two chances he had, his general play was very good, his link-up play, and he set up a lot of chances, and that’s what good strikers do anyway.

“I’m happy to be talking about my attacking players missing chances, the concern is when they’re not getting the chances. Come Saturday week, they’ll be ready.”

Priskin netted only twice for the Blues last season before being sent on loan to QPR in January, where he scored once. Swansea, managed by his former Watford boss Brendan Rodgers, are believed to be interested in signing the 23-year-old.

i am surprised! a lot of positive comments re priskin :-O as i've said in the past i firmly believe he'll come good. but for that to happen the supporters need to get off his back and actually get behind him. too many people seem to have to moan to be happy. looking forward to the season!

Give the guy a chance, his movement and awareness is better than people give him credit for, the goals will follow.

So from that 6 minute clip of a 90 minute game it shows we are still at the same point as last year. Creating many chances, and scoring only 1.

Last year we were known as the team who had more shots on goal then any other team. Looks like until we get a decent striker in more of the same this season. Dont tell me the bury keeper had a blinder like so many keepers did against us last year.

It is all very well creating the chances but someone has to score them.
