Warnock Wins Manager of the Month Thursday, 9th Sep 2010 13:45
QPR boss Neil Warnock has won the Championship Manager of the Month for August. Town’s Roy Keane was short-listed along with Millwall’s Kenny Jackett and Cardiff’s Dave Jones.
Alan Curbishley, who chairs the npower Manager of the Month panel, said: "Neil Warnock's side have hit the ground running this term and have set the pace in the npower Championship.
“Neil's huge experience will be invaluable as the season goes on with Rangers sure to be there or thereabouts at the business end of things."

sorry to disagree with you kinkeano i think QPR will defenitely be up there this season. Although it is early on i think are next three games are very important especially Cardiff and QPR. If we get 7 points from those games we could be in a very good posistion.

I never said that SB, they have a top manager in Neil Warnock and they can do very well this season.

While I'm pleased keane didn't win the award because of the dreaded curse I am very shocked he didn't win as both qpr and Cardiff are out of the carling cup even though they have scored more goals than us in the league and also qpr were lucky not to loose as they scored two goals in injury time while we were unlucky to draw as we conceeded in injury time, also we've had a lot tougher games and I'm assuming millwall manager wouldn't have won because they have less points

So Warnock's QPR have come up against weaker sides than us and we're still on the same points, plus he has lost a cup tie, and still wins it ahead of Keane. What a joke!!! You wait, once Taraabt starts pissing Warnock off with his moody behaviour and lack of work ethic on the pitch and then we'll see QPR drop back into midtable. C U Next Tuesday mr Warnock!!! lol

YESSSSSSSS! Well done Mr Warnock, what a tremendous achievement, you so deserve this award, & I think I speak for most Town fans when I say how pleased we are for yourself & your team QPR!.......... Relief!!!! Glad Keano didn't win it!NOW LET THE CURSE BEGIN!!!! HA HA HA HA, HA HA HA HA,!

Read Guthrum's blog, the curse is a myth! Rather bemused that Warnock got it, as they've had easier fixtures than us, only just scraped through a couple of them and were knocked out of the carling cup by league two opposition. On top of that our side has arguably come much further since the end of last year than QPR's, with far less improvement in terms of personnel. I thought the panel usually take such factors into account, but maybe they didn't give it to Keane out of spite after he said he wasn't interested in it.

Lmao, so what does keane have to do to win the award? I'm sure deap down he is a little disappointed. 4 away wins? Can QPR match that? Interested how that was selected, is he scared of warcock, I'd be more scared of keane!

We've probably had the better start than all of the clubs up the top, but i do agree with the others on here, and would rather us not win it, just in case of any curse, if only for local pride down here on Saturday! And i doubt Keano is gutted, because as before he mentioned it is a team game, and he is never after individual accolades! COYB!

Keane has been the most successful Championship manager this month. But Neil Warnock has been the most successful manager in the Championship this season. Big difference, I'm afraid.

Jealousy on Curbishley's part because Keano got the job and not him. Having said that, whilst I hate Warnock with every fibre of my being, it is because he has achieved success everywhere he has been. QPR will be a force to be reckoned with and will probably finish second behind Town this year.

Showing my ignorance, if the Carling Cup performances are NOT considered here, then it's a sensible verdict to give it to Warnock. Otherwise it's a shocking decision. Still, at least we don't have to worry about the curse; we can leave that to Warnock.

Manager of the Month - who gives a Sh~t anyway! Counts for nothing except you usually lose the next match, lets hope its two after Tuesday.

We all know he deserves it so who cares what Curbs thinks eh? Roll on Saturday - I reckon 2-1 to Town, Leadbitter and Chuck for our goals - Nuggent to taunt us with their goal.

Deep down I wish Keane had got it as I think he deserved it more. But hopefully the curse will contiune and Warnock's QPR will lose a few now. Especially our one.
brian_a_mul added 11:19 - Sep 10
QPR are top so I guess Warnock deserves it. A very good start for any manager at a new team. You can only beat the teams as the fisture list dictates. They will have harder games to come non, harder that Town! We could be sitting top this time next week (fingers crossed!!!!!)

Lose 3-0 at home to Port Vale and still get Mamager of the month absolutely ludicrous. Unlike some posts believe QPR will be the team to finish above. They and Cardiff already look very threatening hence the importance of our next 2 home games.

It doesn't really matter if he won this or not. What's important is that he was even in the running for it. Let's face it, he wasn't in with a sniff last season, so to be shortlisted is a very positive thing. Long may it continue.
