Hungarian Duo Called Up for Friendly Wednesday, 3rd Nov 2010 12:48
Town duo Tamás Priskin and Márton Fülöp have been named in the Hungary squad for their friendly with Lithuania in Budapest on Wednesday 17th November.
Hungarian head coach Sándor Egervári watched the pair in action as they helped the Blues to a 2-0 victory over Millwall on Saturday and was impressed: "It was pleasing to see that both players were in the team and both performed well in the clash.
"Priskin assisted for the first goal and for the second the foul was committed against him for Ipswich's penalty. He was clearly the dominant player for his team and did much help his side win."
Keeper Fülöp has previously won 21 full caps, while striker Priskin has scored seven goals in 29 Hungary appearances.

Whoppit - im not saying Priskin is now brilliant, for the price tag he was given we all expected alot from him, but if you pay this sort of money you expect the manager to play him, and show his worth. Keane has not done this and cannot be good for his confidance, i think that is bad man managment, something i feel Keane needs to work on. But hes shown signs this season that even you can admit.

Whoppit who are you calling deluded I have slated Priskin in past and was not happy that Stead was sold and he was kept. But everyone deserves a chance and when I say a chance that means 4 or 5 full games in a row to get proper match fit to develop an understanding with the midfield and his strike partner. I am not happy with us just plodding along in the championship either I want to have a settled side playing good football and that means giving people like Priskin a chance and so far he has played last two games from start and his performances have done for me!!!!

Martus - that post sounds reasonable and intelligent. However, this season has obviously been better than last season but I am just not convinced by Keane as a manager. I was but it faded around the time of the Plymouth game last season and I am convinced we need an "experienced" manager at the helm. With the new mega parachute payments on offer, every year that we are not promoted means that other clubs are leaving us behind in their wake. Look at Blackpool. If they come down, they are going to have all this money and they may be a greater attraction to some of the talented greedy players we have now. I want the best for Ipswich but I cannot see us getting anywhere with Keane other than bobbing about in mid table. Yes, I am anti-Keane and my posts reflect that but at the end of the day, we are all Ipswich fans and want the best for our club. It would be a bit boring if we all thought the same wouldn't it? Anyway, thanks for the intelligent banter Martus !!!

Totally agree Whoppit, me and you are too passionate about Ipswich and we want the best for them and I can't see it comin under Keane. The style isn't Ipswich and continually changin the lineup doesn't help. We need a manager who has the belief in his players to play passing football. I'm only 18 so I haven't seen the good times but I remember Burleys reign and that was entertaining football we all wanted to watch and respect. It's been a plesure Whoppit

I have criticised Priskin in the past but I feel that he has played much better in the last few games. Fulop moving to Ipswich has probably helped. He's only 24 years old, a seasoned International with Hungary,-and he should probably be given a fair chance. I saw him play 3 or 4 times last season and he was a different player (i.e. terrible...) With the Keane debate,- as I stated before I think its a crucial month for Keane. The Norwich derby is a "must win" game and if we lose this it will only cause more consternation with the fans. I think his opening statements last season "we will get promoted etc.." have not been forgotten by fans and some of his signings (Martin, Leadbitter etc) haven't really taken off. Saying that his dabblings in the loan market have (usually) paid dividends. Personally, I'll stick by him till Xmas (if at that point we've lost against the budgies/out of the cup and battling relegation again THEN I will change my mind). We all know it isn't all Keanes fault anyway...whenever he wants to strike a deal its always dismantled from up above....he's probably blooding more youngsters than he really wants too... Some of the other squads in this division have got a WAY lot stronger also....making the competition for the top 6 intense... I hope he signs an experienced right-back,- we still haven't got over the loss of D.Wright in that area.....we can see clearly that other teams realise this and are trying to exploit this position. How many goals have we conceded this season with crosses from the left banged in by forwards in the six yard box?
