Priskin Thanks Fans for Backing
Priskin Thanks Fans for Backing
Friday, 5th Nov 2010 08:40

Striker Tamás Priskin has thanked fans for getting behind him and helping him to play the best football of his Blues career. The Hungarian has started to find his form this season after a disappointing first year with Town following his £1.7 million move from Watford.

Priskin said: “I’ve had to win the fans over. But they were very good to me last Saturday and I was really pleased with them.

“It’s very important for a player when you’re having a hard time, because you need to have the supporters behind you. That gives you a lift, and I think they did that to me last Saturday.

“I think I’m currently playing my best football for Ipswich Town, but I was just part of a team last weekend.”

Meanwhile, former Town left-back Neil Thompson has left his job as the academy manager at Leeds after a review of the youth system at Elland Road. Chairman Ken Bates cited a lack of players coming through as the reason for the move: "If you think about it, there hasn't been a been name for a couple of seasons."

Elsewhere, ex-Blues keeper Neil Alexander has signed a new three-year deal with Rangers, the side he joined from Town for £500,000 in January 2008.

One-time Blues loanee David Healy has moved to Doncaster Rovers on a one-month loan from Sunderland.

Neil Thompson we could do with him coming back taking the corners and free kicks what a left foot? Maybe Keane could recruit to improve setpieces!

well tamas keep putting the effot in mate and we will back you all the way, tamas main prob was poor service most of the time, i know he missed a few chances but all strikers do, even the great shearer would prob score 1 or 2 from 5 or 6 clear cut chances but when you only get may be 1 or 2 a game then the odds are always stacked against you, but hopefully townsend and edwards get some decent balls in and hopefully he will start finding the net and setting some up

If any evidence was needed that fans should get behind the team rather than whinging all the time, this is it. I was as downbeat as anyone during the recent run of defeats, but if the people who give Priskin a hard time put as much effort into getting behind him, he'd have more of a chance of proving them wrong.

I will never entertain moving to the whinging prawn sandwich stands for this very reason. Fans in the north stand may get edgey at times and we're not the best at making noise when things aren't going our way, but we will always back the team and especially those players who are willing to put in the effort and show some real desire. Keep it up Tamas, you have all the makings of a Town Legend.

Souper jim - I agree. I sit in lower south as I take my boy and get his season ticket for a tenner but I have to say I really miss sitting in the north stand. So many negative comments and moaning where I sit. Even had to change my seat from last year to escape the constant moaning of the people sat behind me !!

Whoppit you had a pop at me yesterday for not ever reading your positive posts, then you leave the above, you want respect on here you gotta act in a respectful way. Personally I don't rate prisken is an opinion, prisken is crap is just unnecessay abuse at a player whom many are actually beginning to warm to. Reckon you could do better in a town shirt do ya?

Bluelady, I pay my money and tell it like I see it. I don't boo any players at games as I think that is counterproductive. Just because Priskin has played better in a few games (open to debate) and scored a goal or two against lower league opposition, it has not convinced me that he is not a donkey !!!

Whoppit what i am saying is we all have a right to an oppinion, but it is how you come over that gets peoples backs up on here. Just re-read your post - Priskin is crap - end of story. That is very blunt and comes across like you are right and anyone with a positive view is wrong. LIke i said we all have our opinions and i am not always positive, but its the way things are said. I pay my money and at times (particularly last season) i wish i had not got a season ticket as i was totally cheesed off with the performance. Last game of the season i could have cried as i'd already re-newed! So i know its not all glory days. BUT just saying someone is CRAP END OF is harsh and unnecessary in my opinion.

I cant understand people saying he was cr@p i admit that last season he really didnt do much, but also i belive Keane could have been at fault as he didnt ever give him a run of games in the team, and how is any player meant to get confidence (which is the sort of player Priskin is) when he has no idea whether or not he will be playing in the next game. Also he scored nearly 20 goals in the season before we brought him from Watford, so he must of had something if he were going to score that many in one season. Keano must now keep him in the team for the next few games and hopefully he can score some goals! COYB

Very well put Bluelady.
It's all very well to have an opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs, but whoppit your posts are nausious to say the least. We all pay good money to watch the Town but why be so angry with your opinions. Priskin has not been the best, i don't think many would disagree but he working and trying hard and that's what is important. The goals will come as I'm sure RK believed they would when he was signed.
By the way whoppit I hope your green and yellow scarf keeps you warm this winter !!!

whoppit.. It's not that you're different it's just that the way you put your opinions across leads me to believe that you are a budgie.
I don't think anyone that supports the town through and through would just put out ridiculous comments like you do.
I think the only thing that would make you really happy and joyous would be a promotion party in Narwich
