Doncaster Match Off

Tuesday’s game at Doncaster has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. A pitch inspection was held at 10.30am and it was quickly decided that the Keepmoat Stadium surface would be unplayable.

Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll and director of football Mickey Walker were at the inspection with Walker commenting: "In all my years in football, I have not seen a playing surface as solid as the one we have here at the Keepmoat."

Doncaster chairman John Ryan said last Wednesday that his groundstaff would “have it all on” to get the game played.

Everyone knows the benefits that a winter break would bring (not least for england) but just think how annoyed we'd be, when in nov/Dec/Jan (whenever) we sat around thinking 'What a perfect day for football'. Then in late feb/mar it was frosty and we sat around again. Yes it's annoying at the moment, but our weather is so erratic, frost and snow could happen at any time! Just have to take it on the chin (so to speak)!

Shame it's rained all night and the pitch is well playable like many others this morning around the country that got called off yesterday.

Still, at least the chances are that Macca will be back for the rescheduled matches, or at least there's hope !!

Please Roy, bring in a Solid CB on a EOS Loan. Smith continues to improve but we need to get out the rut and 'kick on'
