Reserves Beat Palace
Wednesday, 5th Jan 2011 08:42

Town’s reserves beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in a behind closed doors friendly at Playford Road yesterday. Colin Healy and Tamás Priskin netted the goals.

The Blues, who netted a goal in either half, fielded a mixture of youth and experience with the likes of Healy, Priskin, who is being targeted by Swansea, and Luciano Civelli joined by Reggie Lambe, Conor Hourihane, Ronan Murray, Jack Ainsley and academy youngsters Joe Whight and Josh Meekings.

The Palace side included defender Claude Davis, red-carded against Town in the league fixture at Selhurst Park earlier in the season.

Chris Kiwomya’s second string’s next scheduled Totesport.com Football Combination East Division match isn’t until February 9th when they travel to face Oxford United. Town currently sit bottom of the table.

Reserves: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Whight, Hourihane (Cawley 80), Meekings, Eastman, Clark (Lambe 46), Healy (c), Murray, Priskin and Civelli. Unused: McLoughlin.

i have actually been quite impressed with Healy this season, and ok he doesnt set the world on fire but i think he will do a job against the premiership teams as he has the experience and has put a few away for the reserves this year. As for Prisken, come on Roy what else can the lad do eh????? He was showing sparks of a fantastic player, you dropped him, he reacted (quite rightly and im sure if you looked back on your career honestly you would have done the same) now he has clearly played well and scored in reserves, be a man for once and admit you were wrong (Again!). seems to you being a man is being able to put in a crunching tackle, NO ROY being a man is being able to admit you are wrong and say sorry, thats a real man for you.

I think you will find team selection is based on how well players train and has nothing to do with performances on the pitch. So those who played in this game will be to knacked to train properly and therefore will not be picked on Saturday.

I have given up caring

Obviously a game to show off players to agents and clubs - fashion show

katemoss i agree actually. They have Delia there (bless her cotton cannot stand her!) BUT she is passionate about her team, is very vocal (lets be avin ya) and really is a true Cannary, can we say the same about Clegg and Evans? i think not.

strikebackblue - never ever ever willl i sing the yellows greens or whatever other putrid colours that team wear! i am simply saying Delia does to her credit have a real passion for her team, which i think is important, she isnt faceless, she speaks up and i wish we had more of that down here. I am never ever ever going over to the dark side, of that you can be assured!!!!!

That Delia sort is NOT a true nodge fan. She was originally a town fan but could not buy her way in the club.

maybe blue_em_away but i think you are missing the point, what i mean is we could do with someone who gives an enthusiastic front end to our club, Delia is just an unfortunate example.

Have been supporting town for nigh on 50 years feel ITFC are sleepwalking into the 1st Div.Evans should either back Keane or sack him.Agree about Tamas;but what about Civelli?Keane seems reluctant to even give him a kick in first team.
Norwich deserve praise for picking a good Manager and keeping the club true to its roots with the directors who are supporters,as it used to be here at Portman Rd.
Evans only interest in Ipswich is financial as he looked at investing in Southampton before Ipswich, and Clegg is an athletics and rugby man not suited to dealing with agents, and has lost us some of the players Keane wanted.
All in all its bl...y depressing supporting what was once a great club;but has lost its soul!
