Bullard Linked With QPR Talks Thursday, 2nd Jun 2011 11:19
Town loanee Jimmy Bullard is reported to be holding talks with QPR regarding a move to Loftus Road today. Neil Warnock’s newly-promoted side were regularly represented at Portman Road during the 32-year-old’s hugely successful spell with the Blues, which saw him win the club’s Player of the Year award.
Blues boss Paul Jewell is keen to sign his former Wigan player on a permanent basis but has admitted that with Bullard having two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week contract at Hull it would be a very difficult deal for Town to do.
Premier League QPR — or Norwich or Wigan who have both also been linked — would find the financial aspects of a move for the one-time England call-up less challenging than the Blues, despite the player himself saying he enjoyed his time at Portman Road and would love to extend his stay if a deal could be done.
Meanwhile, exiting Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson has turned down the chance to join Town and Millwall, according to a report in the Midlands, and is expected to sign for Derby County.
Elsewhere, former Blue John Kennedy, 32, has joined Bury Town, having been released by Cambridge City, while ex-reserves skipper Justin Miller, 30, has returned to Chelmsford City having left Rushden and Diamonds.

Better them than the scum. I'd never forgive him if he joined the scum, has to be said.

Boring! We're never gonna sign Jimmy permanently. It was good whilst it lasted, now let's move on to signing some more average players that suit our club and CEO better! Get rid of the monkey Clegg and let Jewell do the negotiations and we might stand a chance of signing some decent players.

It all seems very quiet from Portman Road , no real news , no PJ interview or Clegg coming out with excuses! Maybe Phil can get some proper news rather than all these rumours that end up with players going elsewhere? come on Phil get your journilist hat on and track someone down from PR...

Karlosfandangel - The squad was far too big, it is good that we have off loaded some dead wood. Would people stop being such old women!! We dont know what is going on behind the scenes in terms of player talks and negotiations, I think its better that the club dont broadcast all talks. If we havent signed anyone in 30 days time, then start to worry! Most players are now on their hols anyway.

You lot would complain if there was no news!! The season has finished, players are on holiday and nothing is coming from the club. Phil cant win!!

The owner of this club is trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. Year on year we see the quality of playing staff deteriorate. Even youth and reserve players dont want to play for us anymore. Half of them would rather try elsewhere for better deals or longer contracts. I heard when ME first joined the club that he was not interested in the youth set up, but wanted to buy quality players in. However so far I do not see from ME or SC the monies being spent on the quality, so are we now going for lower league targets like NC. Because I dont see that either. I know the season has only just finished, and there is plenty of time before the season starts, but we have only had one bid rejected, and no concrete links to any other players. With what we have left at this club, do not expect miracles next season either, unless some big rabbits are pulled out of the bag in the next month.

There are far too many negative idiots on this site "the end of the world is nigh " Its June how people are already picking our regular players for next year is beyond me ? We could sign 11 new players before the season starts ,we have made enquries ,made offers and i would assume like me no one knows what deals are happening ,trying to happen apart from Jewell/Clegg/Evans so lets not write the club or the season off until we kick off in August ,10 weeks away and see who is wearing the beloved blue shirts

FAO Help; leadbitter edwards norris mcauley bullard priskin scotland martin delaney fulop I dont think you can say ME hasnt stumped up the cash to support managers, they just havent spent very wisely. His support also allows us to resist offers for Wickham. He has also invested heavily in the training facilities. Consider what you are typing next time?! Give me strength!!

Also very pleased we are not getting Tyson. Average record, past his best and sounds like his dad/agent is a trouble maker.

Ahhh, always great to keep up with what former loan players are up to. I trust we can follow Zuilverloons' future antics......Ever wondered how to make a Woo Woo? 25mill peach schnapps (archers) icon 25mill vodka icon 50mill cranberry juice put ice in a glasss. Then add the Archers and vodka, Finally fill the rest of the glass to the top with cranberry juice. Stir it with a stirer and your drink is complete. very yummy..

Lets get some perspective here..Jimmy is a good player and stands out at championship level.....would he stand out at premier league level?..no...will his injury woes return as he will have to compete harder each game?...very likely...and if he signs for the budgies on a decent wage at least we will get to see him back in this league in a year!..and hey ..his wages..and those of the other journeyman mercenary premier league hasbeens and fringe players they are bound to sign, will quickly see them into administration following the relegation next season and back into league one again after that!....i feel better again!!!

A good player but he is 32 and in the twilight of his career, we need younger, faster, hungrier players from the lower divs, just where the hell is our scouting system, other teams do it, why can't we, it just seems to me that we are a bunch of lazy, ditherers and cannot make our minds up or pay out a decent fee, there is something seriously wrong at PR, the club wants a big shake up from top to bottom, we are a complacent club with no drive or determination, no ambition.

Be gutted if dont get Jimmy after all positive comments coming from him end of season! Its all about money these days no commitment from anyone

Time to draw a line. Fed up hearing about our FORMER loan player and someone contracted to HULL talking to other clubs. Best of luck to Jimmy - but as I stated at the time, he won't be joining us. Hopefully PJ has a Plan B, as need to replace Jimmy AND Norris. And that's just the midfield, let alone McAuley, additional cover at CB (as Eastman/Brown have gone), a RB, LB and at least one if not two strikers (suggest two if we have any ambition to gain promotion).
