Jewell Confirms Priskin Leeds Loan Move Broke Down
Jewell Confirms Priskin Leeds Loan Move Broke Down
Friday, 19th Aug 2011 17:20

Blues boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that striker Tamás Priskin was close to joining Leeds United on loan before the West Yorkshire club pulled out of the move.

Jewell, who dismissed the link when it first appeared last week says the switch would have benefited the 25-year-old Hungarian: "Tamás was lined up to go to Leeds and at the 11th hour they changed their mind.

“It's disappointing for Tamás and disappointing for us, it would have given him games and put him in the shop window."

Jewell says a number of his fringe players will be allowed to move on if there is interest, with left-sided full-back or midfielder Shane O’Connor recently turning down a six-month loan at Crawley Town.

Play him. Only strikers we have better are Chopra and JET.

Priskin and Chopra x Infinity

What are Ellington and Scotland doing so right? Priskin has scored more than the 2 of them combined (pre-season and season) yet seems to be absolutely hated by Jewell!

Have we got another nutter in charge I wonder?

I cannot understand several of PJ's actions recently, why he prefers Ellington and Scotland, both similar has beens ,to a current Hungarian international in his mid twenties beats me.
If his coaching team is so good, and not a bunch of his old mates, then they should be able to improve this talented player;but he has to be given a chance, just like a couple of others I can think of.
After the fiasco on Tuesday and against Norwich at the tail end of last season the fans deserve more than they are currently getting which despite all the changes is no better than when he took over.

I haven't seen enough of Ellington to comment, but Scotland always works hard despite having very obvious limitations. Priskin appears somewhat lazy and has blown chance after chance at Ipswich (and QPR on loan). He has scored 5 goals in two seasons for us, how can he be the answer?! I expect his wages are also high like nearly every Keane signing.

Shame and PJ wants him out, but why?????????????? maybe he sees something in training we dont.
PJ is no mug i think we´ll all agree is in this I guess we have to trust his judgement, same for O´connor too.

Could be the right foil for Chopra. Who knows if he isn't given the chance.

Priskin was in a good run November-January. Maybe not scoring loads of goals but the Bobby Robson were chanting his name because of his effort.Possibly because of transfer window but who cares. Then PJs mate Scotland threw a hissy fit and priskin loses his place. Time to give him another chance. Cannot be any worse.

Anyone remember how many TWTD MOTM's he got last year?

Probably only beaten by Norris and Mcauley.

beerhelps - can you remember how many of those games we won? None, if I recall. He was MOTM when we were truly up sh1t creek, but he still didn't score.

However, would love to see him succeed at Town. I do think Priskin CAN do it. I just doubt that he WILL.

Another of Mr Jewell's weird ideas ............... to add to the many.
Get rid of him now and get a REAL Manager - capable of achieving some success for the Club, before we lose what little credibility we have left.

Priskin is not an out and out goal scorer, he does however have a creative spark and would be best played in a support role or should even be given a go in midfield. At any rate he is better than scotland!

Yeah!!! play him today = defenders that can't defend and a striker that does not score. Brilliant, let's hope for that. He has done nothing in 2 years ............unless I'm missing something. What's so great with Hungarian internationals anyway? All the new players brought in by PJ are better than what we have left from the Dark Age. Can't wait for 5.20
