Decision on Stech on Saturday Friday, 16th Sep 2011 14:05
Town boss Paul Jewell says he will sit down with goalkeeper-coach Malcolm Webster on Saturday afternoon to decide whether to take the club’s interest in on-trial West Ham keeper Marek Stech any further. On Monday, TWTD was first to reveal that the Czech U21 international was working with the squad at Playford Road.
Jewell said: “He’s not here with a view to anything specifically, just with a view to have a look at him really. West Ham have been very good and let us have a look at him.
“We’ll sit down with the goalie-coach tomorrow afternoon and see if we take it any further, simple as that.
“He’s done OK. He’s big, I think a couple of years ago everyone thought he was going to be West Ham’s number one but for whatever reason, I don’t know what, he just hasn’t kicked on. We’ve had a look at him closely and we’ll make a decision.”
Stech, who says he’s enjoying his time with Town, is currently fourth choice at Upton Park and is unlikely to play too many games this season, even for the reserves, while the Blues are on the lookout for cover for David Stockdale, whose loan from Fulham includes a 24-hour recall clause, and Arran Lee-Barrett.

how come we haven't produced a good keeper in ages ? Plug was the last and he did very little after leaving us .... other than warm the bench everywhere he went

This is an earlier post which if accurate answers some questions Essexnblue added 22:25 - Sep 15 Marek Sstech is actually number 2 at West Ham, he was expected to be number 1 if Green moved on, but no club made offers for Green. If Stech was to play 2 more games for West Ham then they would have to play 700,000 to his previous club, thats why West Ham are looking to offload him.

HARRY 10 We have a very good young international keeper He has come up through the Academy ,Has a one year contract . He is the USA Number 1 under 20 keeper .He also plays with the reserves when they have game's.He trains with the first team. He has made a appearance on the bench for Town. His name is Cody Cropper. But alas he is only turned 18 in March this year,Still a little bit young. I Think.Maybe this is the keeper Paul Jewel says he wants a young keeper in the near future to be Towns number 1 COYB
