Bullard Appeal Process Set to Start
Bullard Appeal Process Set to Start
Saturday, 19th Nov 2011 22:21

Midfielder Jimmy Bullard is reportedly set to start the process of appealing against his sacking by Hull City this week. The 33-year-old exited the KC Stadium in the summer for a still-to-be-disclosed disciplinary matter on the Tigers’ pre-season trip to Slovenia.

Bullard, who had two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week Hull contract, has appealed to the Football League with his legal team understood to be meeting with a disciplinary panel this week where it will be decided whether he has a case. The player believes he is entitled to the difference between his Hull contract and his earnings with Town during that period, a figure believed to be in the region of £2 million.

The Tigers are reportedly set to argue that Bullard, who has hired top barrister Nick De Marco to represent him, is no longer able to appeal now that he has joined the Blues.

If the Football League refuse to allow the appeal, it is possible the matter could go as far as the High Court.

I wonder how much of a distraction this is for Jimmy and whether it is a factor in his poor form for us. He was a star player last season on loan, we push the boat out on his wages and sign him, then he is so poor he is hardly worth a place in the team! We can't blame Jewell for signing him as we all wanted him and I am sure everyone is disappointed thus far. Come on Jimmy, up your game!

He concentrate on passing to people on the same team. Don't care how good he was last season, he's been p1ss poor recently. Evans pushed the boat out to get him here, time to start showing why Jimmy.

Too many distractions. Babies, drivings bans, unfair dimsissal claims, drink/gambling problems. 4 of 11 first choice players with more important things than football on their mind and it's caught up with us.

Perhaps if Jimmy wins Hull will have to re-instate him!

PJ has to find a way to play JB to give him more space. Last season he ran games from midfield. Opponents have sussed this out and they close him down much quicker. We need another midfielder who is comfortable on the ball to take the pressure off JB.

Nice that all of our players are fully focused on the job in hand. Let's see :

Stockdale - on loan - waiting for a call back to Fulham whenever they see fit ;
Edwards - driving fiasco, nearly imprisoned, and premature twins ;
Collins - on loan, has made it clear he only wants to be here if we're winning, premature baby ;
Bullard - all eyes on his previous employment ;
Andrews - on loan, clearly hoping for interest from another Premiership club ;
Leadbitter - fancies a move elsewhere at end of season - doesn't want another contract ;
Chopra - gambling addiction ;
Wabara - on loan ;
Priskin - knows he's not wanted ;

Plus a load of others who, like Priskin, know they are not wanted (Healy, Peters, O'Connor, Hyam et al)

Happy times.

That's not unreasonable Daleyitfc

It's really a question of whether PJ has the character to pull it all together. After all he has chosen these difficult and injury/addiction prone players.

I really don't know. If you are going to share in some way with yr team you need to perhaps be FIT (which clearly PJ is not) or hold the upper hand psychologically, which I think he IS compared with recent incumbents.

PJ needs to examine his undoubted determination to give a little room to change. We are NOT doing too well at the moment (could it be worse?)

How can we not applaud his ability to put together a temporary team and no doubt by January he will have changed the whole face of the team
