Scout King Leaves Town
Scout King Leaves Town
Thursday, 1st Dec 2011 10:09

Recently appointed scout Andy King has left the Blues to become assistant manager to Aidy Boothroyd at Northampton Town. Boothroyd took over as boss at Sixfields yesterday, the previous incumbent Gary Johnson having left a fortnight ago.

King, who was only appointed to his role at Portman Road last month at the same time as former Bolton defender Mark Seagraves, previously worked alongside Boothroyd as his chief scout at Colchester United.

Elsewhere, former Blues loanee Jimmy Juan is on trial at Chesterfield, having previously spent time with St Johnstone, Macclesfield and Bury, his previous club Grenoble having gone bust.

Lighten up Vic ffs - Most of the comments are tongue in cheek as this is hardly a story worthy of sensible comment.

Paulc - trouble is, unless I'm being seriously trolled, most of the comments are actually what people think. I notice that you don't post on the forum much - have a look and you'll find the same thing on there where the big boys play. Even if they are joking, does an atmosphere of negative comments help the club? I don't think so. I just don't think it's clever and helpful for people to keep making cheap critical comments.

Pity, could have been an alternative to Hucthings as caretaker manager when PJ walks.

I bet he is delighted to be leaving PR and the terrible squad put together by PJ. I wonder if his remit was to watch injury prone has beens aged 30 and over?

Jimmy Juan is aged 28 - far too young for a PJ side.

is there no end to the idiotic comments that are made on here? andy king was only appointed to this job around a month ago, & was along with m seagraves was given the task of scouting young up & coming players. yet posters on here are making comments about him scouting oap homes. at least get your facts right before posting such rubbish. oh, & once again there are people blaming clegg for this. wake up folks. youre the same ones who were saying what a good job hed done during the summer transfer window, getting all the players signed on. then, as soon as things arent going well, you put the blame on him. pathetic. the only people to blame for this are pj, his coaching staff, & the players.

Another fine appointment by Mr Jewell - commitment or what ? - but then he has been here long enough to know the ship is taking water - increasingly fast too.

JewellintheTown - what club needs success with supporters like you and Vic - just not necessary is it ?.

Vic has a point.

Whilst most of the comments are tongue in cheek (and there's nothing wrong in that, heavens know we could all do with a laugh), some of the criticisms are way off the mark.

I went to school with Andy and he is a top man. A good player who has performed at the highest level, perhaps unlucky to not have been picked to play for England. He has had success (albeit blotting his copy book at Mansfield (?) for racist comments) as a manager. Who wouldn't choose a job as an assistant manger (anywhere) rather than be in a team of scouts.

I for one wish him all the best .

Bergholtblue - my comment was in no way derisory of Andy King himself, I too wish him well, but when we lose someone of their own accord, to Clubs such as Northampton - doesn't really say much for us in my opinion.
Obviously offered a much better role and deal - than he had here.
