Town have been linked with a move for a second Falkirk player, winger Kallum Higginbotham. The 22-year-old is reported to have been given the go ahead to speak to five clubs having agreed a fee.

SPL giants Rangers and Celtic are said to be leading the chase with the Blues, Crystal Palace and Huddersfield are also understood to be interested in the Salford-born player, who was previously with Oldham, Rochdale and on loan at Accrington Stanley. Higginbotham, who is 5ft 11in tall, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Having started as a striker, right-sided Higginbotham was converted to playing wide while with Rochdale.

Town have already had an offer of £300,000 plus add-ons accepted for Bairns’ central defender Murray Wallace.

The 19-year-old, who was at Portman Road yesterday, is set to make a decision on whether he joins the Blues, Brighton, Huddersfield or any as yet unknown suitors before today's deadline.
