Wallace Joining Huddersfield
Wallace Joining Huddersfield

Town appear to have missed out on signing Falkirk youngster Murray Wallace with the Scottish League Division One club announcing that they expect him to join League One Huddersfield later today. The Blues, Brighton and the Terriers had all agreed a £300,000 plus add-ons fee for the 19-year-old.

Wallace is currently at Huddersfield where he is undergoing a medical, having been at Town yesterday and Brighton last week. The Terriers are understood to have offered both the player and the club a better financial package than both the Blues and the Seagulls with the fee reportedly potentially rising to £700,000.

Falkirk boss Steven Pressley said: “The deal has almost been concluded but there are one or two bits and pieces to finalise.

“Murray has been fantastic for us but it is not the parting of the ways as the deal means he will remain at Falkirk till the end of the season.

"It is an excellent bit of business by the club for, with add-ons, it could mount up to quite a substantial figure over time.

“Obviously we will miss him when he eventually goes as he is a terrific young player. However, this is part of our long-term Academy strategy and we are comfortable with the move.”

Well well well. Not surprised him not coming to town but thought Brighton would've won that race.

I don't care anymore. I've been trying to get through to David Kerslake all morning but to no avail. I love our club but we are currently unattractive to most potential signings

PJ should have addressed the defence in the Summer. We have also had all transfer window - now yet again we have no new signings. No wonder we have missed out - would you want to work with a manager who has delivered 12 defeats in 16? Agents and players are shocked he is still here - as am I. ME has to act and now.

Really has to be the most drawn out boring non event deadline day i have ever witnessed, so wish i could have been born in manchester london or glasgow at least then i could have supported a team that is'nt constantly letting me down all of the time!!

Well he is guaranteed to be playing in the Championship next season with Huddersfield, must have been the main reason, as surely they didn't offer him a better contract than us!
