Priskin Nets Winner on Alania Debut Monday, 12th Mar 2012 17:29
Former Blue Tamás Priskin netted the winner on his debut for Alania Vladikavkaz as they won 1-0 away against Town's 2001 UEFA Cup foes Torpedo Moscow this afternoon.
The Hungarian international struck in the 25th minute of the first promotion play-off group game as the Russian season got back under way after the winter break.
Priskin's Blues contract was cancelled by mutual consent in January and he joined the second tier side soon afterwards signing a three-year deal.

Truly astonishing, how did he summon the energy to chase the ball?! Yes i know he scored against Arsenal, other than that he was pitiful.

Wow, the Russian first division must be poor.
buryblue77 added 19:45 - Mar 12
Michael11, I'd imagine that the Russian second tier is probably somewhere around our leagueone/two standard, so pi$$ poor in other words, probably about his level and as Clive Baker says, thanks for that Keane, another few quid down the drain.

So, he's finally found his level............the Russian second tier. I knew there was a place for Tamas somewhere. I wonder what his package is there? Half a dozen rubels ,a rotten turnip and a free bunk up in the local brothel twice a week probably. £1.7 fookin million, sends shudders down me every time I think about it.

I realise from the blokes around me who used to moan as soon as he was listed in the squad that I am in the minority but I always thought he was a decent player. Thought he worked hard and if he was playing more often could have notched some goals. He was in a squad that lacked morale and nobody shone in that era! Good luck to him

I'm not being funny, but who cares when former players score a goal or get an international call-up or whatever. If we've loaned them out somewhere then yeah, maybe it might be of interest.

@buryblue77 You imagine that do you? Have you ever seen any games from the Russian 1st division? No you haven't. Stop talking about something you have no clue about.

He was lazy and a very poor signing for us....score ratio whilst at ipswich 1 in 10... his strike rate whilst in english football over 6 years was about 1 in 6. Lets face it none of the clubs he went on loan to, wanted to keep him. I dont know enough about the russian leagues to comment on them, but water finds its own level....coyb

Torpedo Moscow...that's a blast from the past. Who would have thought in 2001 having finishing 5th in the Prem, that 11 years on we are 'aiming' for an improvement on finishing in the top 13 in the Championship ggrrr! Still, I think the good times are just round the corner...

He must of been offside, or it must of been a tap in from half a yard. No way can that waste of space score with his effort and passion.

i assume it was an own goal

@crock, well given the standard of the championship which i believe to be the wealthiest non top flight league in the world and the sxith or seventh richest in Europe then it would probably appear that all things being relative the standard of football in the championship is possibly better than that of even top flight football in Russia apart from the bigger teams who achieve champions League football, anyway what on earth has got you so uptight about my Russian football comment?

I'm with Metalhead who really cares ? he's nothing to do with the club anymore so it shouldn't be news worthy
Michael11 added 02:03 - Mar 13
Buryblue77 - If their standard is similar to league one/two then i still can't see him bagging more than half a dozen goals mate, really is one of the worst wastes of money we've spent in recent years.
