Will be sad to see Peters go as he's by far our longest serving player, nobody else comes close to having been at the club for the length of time he has but it's apparent that he's just not good enough so best gone to free up some wages, although I doubt he's on a huge amount (football related) but it seems that in our new financial position of counting every last penny we haven't got the money to carry passengers.

Yes Pazelle all the Managers have been wrong, Peters is in fact a Brilliant player, thats why there is such a big queue of clubs waiting to take him off our hands....

Whether letting them go is right or wrong, I do think that Town have been very unfair to leave it this late in the summer and close to the new season to do something. Thats going to make it much harder for them to find new clubs.

Actually by having their contracts terminated means they are without a club. Therefore the transfer window does not effect them and they can sign for a club at their leisure

Thats true Wickedblue although I still think that by leaving it late their options have been reduced as many clubs have sorted out who they want in and out altready.

Such a shame that both Peters and Bullard haven't lived up to expectations. They both could have been really influential players for us but unfortunately it just hasn't happened for one reason or another. I wish them the best of luck for the future and hope that they can find new clubs soon (hopefully not lining up against us though this season!).

Pauld1 - there's still a lot of transfer action to come over the next three weeks, plenty of clubs still looking for players, having missed out on their targets. And being free transfers will make them all the more attractive.

What Ipswich really need, if we want to get promoted, is to be prepared to spend money on players. The likes os £250'000 on players, is not going to get us promoted. It's the likes of Davies, and others, costing close to the £1million mark that are going to give us hope. We are not a 'poor club'! Where is the £8million from Connor? Get your wallet out Evans, and get this club where it should be, being the Premier League!

However, I do have a good feeling about this season, with the likes of Chambers, JET, Martin, Chopra who looks like he's scoring for fun recently, Luongo, Cresswell, and the youngsters coming through, such as Hewitt, Hyam, Carson and Murray. We do have a good chance this season, but we NEED TO SPEND!

Get in Wilson, Davies, and a good playmaker in the middle of the park, someone like McGugan, or Liam Palmer from Sheffield United? Just a thought. COYB!<3

Always gave his all in a Town shirt, got caught out a few times at the back but in the main is a better player than the recent Town management have given him credit for. Should have used him more on the right wing with his pace. Good luck Jamie you don't deserve to rot in the reserves, work hard and get playing for another club in the Championship.

I will always remember with pride the whole ground cheering your every touch when you made your first appearance under Jewell at the end of 2010-11 season. Brilliant.

JP would do well down the road at Col U, Sort of player Ward likes, works hard gives everything, and just a shame that he does not have that bit extra required at Championship level.

Very sad to see Jamie go. A real fan's favourite. Whoever first put him at full back should hang their head in shame, as for me that ruined his career. Be surprised to see him play consistently at this level again.

Also Bullard. I would absolutely love, love to know what is exactly the problem with him. Is it his off field antics, his 'attitude', or is it that he just doesn't have it in him anymore? At the moment we don't really know. Such a shame, he was a real hero during that loan spell and made everyone smile, even when we were losing. Even at the start of last season when he joined it was much the same, same old Jimmy making us all laugh, and actually contributing well to winning games, people forget that. I still say he hasn't been given a chance in a proper midfield since the diamond went bust, but Jewell will have seen him in pre season and will have done what's best for the club. Very sad. There's a good blog on the home page about the whole situation actually definitely worth a read.

Fair play to Ellington, with only two senior strikers at the club he's got a chance of making an impact. Doubt he's on much money either. Poor signing but I'm happy for him to stay and fight for his place. He's also barely had a chance since he signed. I know Jewell has indicated that he doesn't train particularly well, but there's nothing like playing a match, and actually most times he came on last season he looked quite useful, just nothing like the goal scorer he used to be.

taylor15, as much as I'd love to see us in The Premier League and I do sort of agree with what you're saying we don't have a given right to be there, we have to be there on merit and apart from a couple of seasons under Joe where we missed out we haven't looked like being promoted and as for spending money, when we've had money in the past (Burley 01-02 and Keane 09-10) we haven't done that well, in fact I'd say Pauls bargain buys are much better than Keanes big money. Forget reputation, based on their times at Ipswich, who would you rather have, Drury or Leadbitter? Loach or Fulop? Chambers or Delaney? Ellington or Priskin, who are both useless but Ellington didn't cost £1.75m and probably earns less than Priskin did.
Although, I do agree we probably need to see more money being spent now, just not wasted.

I watched Jaime when on loan at AFC Bournemouth and whilst I was really excited to see a Town Player who I thought would boss the game ... he was anonymous. I really REALLY like JP - but I cannot see that he is up to the standard to command a place - and he has been at the club plenty long enough to stake the claim if he ever was going to .... sorry jaime.... hope you find a good club where you can learn to shine but at ITFC and AFCB you just didn't cut it. SORRY :(

My mind is completely caught between a rock and a hard place....I see what we are doing, getting rid of players that re not commited or good enough and saving money in prepartion for the new financila rules that come into pace....but question is does that put us behind the 8-ball this year on performance potential, but in great position next season when other teams have to "cull" the team to meet the requirements of the new rules....
