Town Bosses at Colchester
Tuesday, 20th Nov 2012 21:37

Town boss Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor were at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this evening to watch Colchester United take on Coventry City.

The game ended 3-1 to the Sky Blues with ex-Town centre-half Tom Eastman netting for the U’s after midfielder Franck Moussa and centre-back William Edjenguele had put the visitors in front.

Coventry’s on-loan Nottingham Forest striker David McGoldrick added the third late on, his 12th goal of the season.

Eastman, 21, has done well with the U's since turning down a six-month contract with the Blues in the summer of 2011 to move to his local club. Eastman's central defensive partner, 26-year-old Magnus Okuonghae, was linked with the Blues in January, although the reports were dismissed by the U's.

Midfielder Anthony Wordsworth, 23, has previously been mentioned in connection with Championship clubs, while on-loan Arsenal man Craig Eastmond, a 21-year-old midfielder, and those two may have been the reason for the Blues duo's trip over the border.

Nothing in it. They're living in a hotel, so watching Col U was better than another boring night in the hotel bar! Also more relevant to ITFCs future, watching Col U than Champions League on TV.

Sounds like Tom Eastman is doing a good job there, good for him though. We need hungry league 1 players starting with Jose Baxter and Anthony Wordsworth.

@algarvefan and others: I trust MM to make good calls now that he is our gaffer. Although it seemed like PJ was always dependent on loans I think MM on the other hand is simply doing what he can until he can make permanent changes. If MM thinks we need a couple of loanees in to fill gaps, I'm happy to trust him. COYB!!

Blimey, the new management team are going to wonder if they can watch a vaguely related football clip on youtube without it being reported. Calm down and give yourself the night off?

Only you Mick and Terry know who you were looking at tonight.
But if you want to look at talent just look in your own back yard there is a young lad banging in hatricks and scoring goals for fun.
He is not a loan player and he would love to be given a chance in the squad.
If your good enough your old enough.
Come on Mick give some of lads a go on the bench because one thing is for sure
they will work their socks off for you and thats more than can be said about some of the non tryers that you are playing at the moment.
And lastly please dont play henderson in this importing game saturday because we need to win it and we cant afford to give them several goals start.
