Magilton Wants Leeds Job
Thursday, 4th Apr 2013 22:46

Former Blues boss and skipper Jim Magilton says he’d be interested in becoming the new boss at Leeds United.

The Northern Irishman has been out of a management job since leaving Australian side the Melbourne Victory in April last year and has recently been working as a pundit for Qatari television.

"Of course I would be interested in taking over at Leeds United," he said. "Leeds United are a massive club in England and it would be a fantastic job for anyone.

"I would relish the chance to manage Leeds and it would be an honour for whoever gets it."

Magilton managed Town between 2006 and 2009 and also had a brief spell in charge at QPR as well as a stint as assistant to current Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill with Shamrock Rovers in the Republic of Ireland.

The 43-year-old’s former Town team-mate Richard Naylor was appointed the assistant to caretaker-manager Neil Redfearn in the wake of Neil Warnock leaving Leeds earlier in the week.

I'm sure he would but not sure he'll get it. That said, they've no money so in no position to pay big salary or compensation. I wish Jim well - would be great to see him back in management.

Pretty sure he's just saying its a good job rather than he's actually going for it. Love Super Jim, but after QPR he's really got to get his feet on the ground at a decent lower champ/ higher League 1 side.

Before the Busacky incident at QPR he was impressing hugely. One thing you know is he'll try and get you playing good football.

I would imagine that even I might by above him in the pecking order for this one. Dream on, Jim.

Headline: "Magilton wants Leeds job."

Pretty silly.

(Not aimed at you, Phil. I know you're just reporting other people's stories here.)
