Foley Turns Down Notts County Job Wednesday, 12th Jun 2013 22:19
Academy coach Steve Foley has turned down the job of assistant manager to his one-time Town colleague Chris Kiwomya at League One Notts County.
Foley rejoined Bryan Klug’s youth set-up last summer having previously been Town’s first-team coach under Jim Magilton, during which time former striker Kiwomya was also on the Blues’ staff.
The 59-year-old, who also coaches at Ryman League side Needham Market, had been offered a three-year deal at Meadow Lane.

Good news for us. Klug and Foley are the right men to bring our boys through again. Hopefully Mick won't waste them like Keane did.

Maybe an Academy coach pays more than a 1st team Assistant Manager?

I don't think it's about money. I suspect it's more that he's settled in the area and happy at Town so has no reason to move on. He's always come across as being very level headed and I imagine he's planned for his retirement in about a decade and doesn't want to move around the country in that time.

Could it also be that he is just loyal to the club and or Brian Klug ?

...... he's a 'true blue' and we need him here - nice one Steve. A really good experienced Coach - that's why Kiwomya wanted him.
