Veseli: Great Feedback on Town
Friday, 19th Jul 2013 15:43

New signing Frederic Veseli says Town received glowing reviews from those he consulted before putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Blues.

The Swiss defender or midfielder told the club site: “There were a few options for me so I asked around about the clubs that were interested.

“I spoke to the people I know at Manchester United, people I trust — like the reserve team manager Warren Joyce, who was great for me - and he told me all about Ipswich.

“He said it was a really good club, a family club. He said it was a club where I could progress as a player.

“He told me to come here straight away, and he wasn’t the only one. I had great feedback about Ipswich from a lot of people.

“I spent a week in Ireland with the team and had a good feeling about the manager, the other staff and the players. Even though I did not know anyone, I felt very at home straight away.

“Sometimes you have to go with your emotion. Your heart tells you where to go and I’ve done that. It’s an exciting new challenge for me and I can’t wait.”

How refreshing to not hear the old cliches, a genuine bloke that really seems to want to be here, fantastic to be bringing in so much youth. This must be one of our youngest squads, really positive for the future.

Welcome aboard Freddy!

As Jas said above, great to hear that Town are being praised/recommeded at Old Trafford. ( Maybe someone there might recommend us as a fresh start for Rooney- guaranteed first team place Wayne!).

“He said it was a really good club, a family club. He said it was a club where I could progress as a player.

This is not good it has happened to many times before, players use us as a stepping stone to move to bigger clubs and play for themselves not the club, the family club picture doesnt hlp this matter

This lad looks a great signing for us and keep up the good work Mick
I think a few more players will be signed before we kick off the season and a few loan players as well
we now have a team and a good manager who could push for a playoff place
My money is on Watford to win the league as they look to be signing a top team and I think they will romp the league but I would love to see Town promoted this year and hopefully Norwich relegated

A big thanks to Warren Joyce as well! He's not good friends with Rooney as well is he?

Potentially a good signing, but a young player. Let's let him develop and not expect too much, too soon. Talk that he will go straight into the team are unrealistic and setting him up for (unrealistic) failure.
