U21s Lose at Brighton
Monday, 26th Aug 2013 16:59

Town’s U21s lost 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion at Lancing FC’s Culver Road ground this afternoon. Paul Taylor, the only senior player in the squad, scored the Blues’ goal from the penalty spot in the second half.

The Seagulls were 2-0 in front at the break via Lewis Dunk and Jesse Starkey.

Taylor netted from the spot in the 54th minute after Dunk had fouled Jack Marriott, before Glen Rea added the home side’s third 14 minutes from the end.

Town manager Mick McCarthy was at the game to watch Mark Kennedy’s team in action.

U21s: Crowe, Hammond, October, Berkane, M Clarke, Leddy, Winter, Lawrence, Marriott, Taylor, Adekunle. Subs: Marsden, Sowunmi, Robinson, Galvin, Willbye.

Again.. Tad dissapointing.. But nevermind! Guess its not that important, just a good run out to get Taylor fit. Hopefully we can break this loosing trend soon and get back to Mick's winning ways! :)

Our under 21s are not performing well. The club need a winning mentality . Taylor is suffering clearly , why did not sign boyd for the money I do not know. Its like Jewel has a rolex and a time x side by side. Soeone says the time x is more money so he buys that watch while someone else buys the rolex and success follows. God its depressing wondering if we will get a win or will we be on less points come November than we were last time out.

We were unlucky had six goals disallowed, and five players sent off.

I wonder what is happening. I don't think the Under 21's or the Under 18's have won a match since the league started or have I got it wrong? They appeared almost impregnable in pre season so this is rather worrying and remember next year we will be in the 1st Division too?

As Wordsworth was missing can we assume he may be called into first team squad for Saturday?

Mick hasn't forgiven him for gifting Hull the winner last term, so i doubt it.

Outplayed 1st half. Much better 2nd half. Taylor was a handful. Brighton were a much bigger, stronger outfit and deserved to win.

Its a development squad. because we haven't won a match yet doesn't mean that the players are not developing individually. Negative comments will NEVER do US, the supporters or the players any good. let us continusly supprt and leave psitive feedback. Unwards and upwards!!
