Taylor Impresses for Posh Saturday, 5th Oct 2013 23:44
On-loan Town striker Paul Taylor was named the sponsor’s man of the match as Peterborough United beat Preston 2-0 at London Road. The 25-year-old, who is back with Posh until November 2nd, played the first 78 minutes.
Former Town loanee Tyrone Barnett scored the first goal in the ninth minute and Grant McCann added the second on 29.
Taylor was one of the players manager Darren Ferguson singled out for praise: “Jack Payne was excellent again and I would pay to watch Paul Taylor.
"He’s a fantastic footballer and it’s a shame he didn’t score today as he deserved a goal.”
Peterborough are next in action on Tuesday when they take on Brentford in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at London Road.

Taylor won't be back that's my opinion.everyone seems to love MM far to much when he first came here he said about round holes and square pegs are defence was more solid with chambers and smith at cb putting chambers at rb and Anderson at rm has made the right side so week if mick is going to continue with chambers at rb he needs a pacy winger.i like Anderson but doesn't seem like a wide man to me

He certainly should be receiving these reviews, lets not forget he is playing in a division below the Championship. An excellent opportunity for him to get matches under his belt, improve his fitness, and boost his confidence. Will MM give him the chance to prove himself at Championship level if the team are doing the business and accumilating points? Personally I can't see MM wanting to change the side if this is happening, and if he is doing so well will he be played in the position that posh are utilising him. Some have bemoaned the fact that we don't seem to ba able to change our shape when things go against us, as what happened against Derby, maybe he will be the answer by being a player who we can bring on and change that situation. Two points away from home from two away games is better than none, but it's not good enough for automatic promotion, as a whole, we are still far away from that. Consistancy will always be a factor to ensure promotion, and if by Christmas if we haven't got it, Then a top six finish will be the best we can hope for. Whatever happens I'll be on the terraces cheering us on, COYB's

It was an absurd decision. Beyond McGoldrick we demonstrably lack attacking options. Taylor has quick feet and can make things happens. To retain the services of the currently lamentable Nouble in favour of Taylor is bizarre.

He's not deemed fit enough at the moment bluedandy so it's anything but absurd. What's absurd is that a lot of town fans fail to understand something so unbelievably basic as epitomised by tractorboyz82 ramblings!!

....... people who have some understanding of the game are putting a few question marks around right now - and rightly so.

people need to calm down this is just to get Taylor fit not because MM doesn't like him, MM is being clever by playing Taylor in a lower league to get match fit so that he can one prove himself to Mick and two if he isn't ready he doesn't cause us matches which we don't want to happen but obliviously he wants to prove himself and get playing football as this MOM shows so I think when he comes back he will go straight into the team.

BlueDandy said it. I don't think that MM & TC will prefer Frank Nouble to Paul Taylor when Paul Taylor is fit. I think Paul Taylor will come good. I do hope so.

Send Nouble out on loan, he must be less fit than Taylor. Espcially with all those pies he keeps eating.

The PT / MM thing has nothing to do with fitness, its about attitude and personalities - in short, PT won't be playing regular, if any football at PR

Some of the Anti-MM scumlovers on here need to face reality with Paul Taylor. He needs time to get fit and sharp. At Posh he will get that time. The standard in League 1 is lower therefore a MOTM performance is good to hear (because he's getting back to his old best) and not a mistake by MM ("if he was with Ipswich he'd be our MOTM in Championship games"). Everyone's happy with this except those who are hoping MM's team fails. Posh are happy with having a good player for a while, PT is happy because he's getting competitive football as tries to get to peak condition, MM is happy because he knows that when PT comes back he'll be 100% and the real Blues fans are happy because all of the above is down to good man management.
