Winning Banner Designs Go into Production
Monday, 7th Oct 2013 13:45

Two designs emerged as strong winners of the recent vote on the banners TWTD Message Boarders have been working on since the summer.

The two designs below received 83.7% and 74.4% in their respective polls and will now be put into production.

The banners are crowd sourced with all donations gratefully received. For more details and to make your donation, click here.

The initial target of £500 has now been reached, however, the more cash that’s raised the bigger the banners will be, while there are already tentative plans for a third banner featuring the club’s local heroes, players such as Kieron Dyer, Brian Talbot, Jason Dozzell and Ted Phillips.

@Bandbox

As you know, people voted for who they wanted to see on there, and those were the top 7 players with Butcher very narrowly missing out.

@boblue , are they more deserving of a place on the banners as players or because of skin colour?
Political votes should never count this is a football club not Westminster
In all fairness Fabian is the only black player that we have had that could go close to getting on banner but honestly take skin colour out of this who could you replace for him?

Stuart maybe but without Stuart we would never have finished 5 in premier league and never had sir bobby Robson and south stand redeveloped.

Bedsitfc I would argue Marcus Stewart. Ms a great servant but only really had two good seasons if you think about it Fabian far more deserving irrespective of colour great servant to the club and a constant professional always kept end his feet on the ground and had time for the fans

Yes, our history of the outcomes of stand redevelopment are excellent....

what the hell has this subject got to do with the colour of some1s skin? its about who the fans wanted on these banners. im quite sure there will be many players who could have been voted for, and im sure fabian, dj were probably among them, and others. at the end of the day those players with the most votes are on there. if that doesn't suit those people who seem to believe you have to put black players on there to please the pc argument. tough. those players on that banner are arguably among the best and most influential players this club has ever had. of course there are many others who could have been on there but youd need a banner that stretched right round the ground to fit them in. homer 123. like many in the past you seem to think that it was the building of the stands that caused our debt, it wasn't. the club have a mortgage on the stands just like many have a mortgage on their house. the real debt came from bad player purchases by burley and the subsequent relegation.

How much do we need for each size of banner? I.e what is the size of Small, Medium, Large banners and what is the price ?

bentley_blue added 19:31 - Oct 7
Could the size of 'The pride of East Anglia since 1887' be made larger on the top design? Think you will struggle to read it at that size from the opposite stand.

Banners r spot on!! Ray Crawford was a true legend for Sir Alf! Johnny Wark scored 14 goals for us wen we won the UEFA Cup and is still a record I believe and from midfield! Mick Mills is the greatest captain and role model this club has ever had! Big Kevin is the greatest player to wear our shirt! Arnie and Fran's were the final piece of Bobby's jigsaw and he had the best left foot ever! Mariner is the greatest striker we've ever had ! Marcus should be there as he rescued the first leg of the play offs for us, his display at wembley helped us up and he finished top scorer in the prem ahead of the so called superstars!

Yes, there r many that cd be there but the choices r spot on. Butch and Fran's for instance. Like the idea of a home grown banner. As for dj and Fabian they r great players and I loved them like all of us, but they r not at the level of those on the banner!

Absolutely brilliant banners.
Cannot fault them at all. Perfect selection of players and managers.
Look forward to seeing them at PR.

I question Burley. Great player and good manager but...er...we sacked him.

Probably much too late, but the hyphen on the second banner could have been replaced with the three stars.

Make a banner with the face of everyone who ever pulled a Town shirt on and still someone would have a moan!

TrabzonBlue added 11:29 - Oct 8
for the first banner I would copy the badge and place it on the left as well, otherwise just cut that empty space away.

TrabzonBlue. Was thinking the same. Or how about having the old badge on the left? (with the yellow border)
