Wordsworth and Nouble Start at Blackburn
Saturday, 5th Apr 2014 14:08

Anthony Wordsworth and Frank Nouble are recalled to the Town starting line-up for today’s game at Blackburn with Stephen Hunt dropping to the bench and Paul Anderson out of the 18.

We understand Nouble will be on the left of a four-man midfield with Wordsworth on the right and Jonny Williams behind lone striker Daryl Murphy.

Blackburn: Robinson; Keane, Hanley (c), Kilgallon, Spurr; Cairney, Evans, Williamson, Conway; Gestede, Rhodes. Subs: Eastwood, King, Dunn, Varney, Taylor, Etuhu, Feeney.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Cresswell, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Hyam, Wordsworth, Nouble, Williams, Murphy. Subs: Loach, Hunt, Green, Mings, Tabb, Richardson, Ebanks-Blake. Referee: Keith Stroud (Hampshire).

Great :) Not what I expected, impact off the bench might rely on SEB finding form now but clearly going for the win.

The exact team I suggested.

Great to see Wordy is back in and Mick has basically stuck to his words of resting him last week! COYB

Are you sure about the set up? Wordy on the right? Wouldnt it be better to play a 3 man midfield with Williams in between them and the 2 strikers?

Its going to be interesting but i reckon we will play Williams on the left and Nouble up front with Murphy. COYB

The beat. I think it is the right decision as they have flaws at full back and wordy is a tricky creative player

Good that dunn is on the bench too, perhaps fatigue?

There's a fair amount of flexibility in that team, could change set-up as required.

Excellent news. Well done MM and TC for shifting the starting line-up with more emphasis on attack. We'll need to harvest 3 points from the majority of the remaining games and it looks like we intend to start on the front foot. That's the spirit!

Glad to see Wordsworth starting, still not sure about the 4411 formation though! personally prefer Williams to have a more central role rather than tucked in behind Murphy. Nouble on the left seems a bit strange, didn't he play on the right in the 433 the last couple of games upfront?

@thebeat
I hope you're right. Stick with 3 in the middle, Williams between midfield and Murphy and Nouble just to drift and cause a nuisance either on a wing or drifting up top to run at them.

Waheey! Can't really complain about this line-up. Hope it works from the start. We do seem to be going for it. Well done, Mick!

A long trip on a coach to Blackburn really wouldn't have done Anderson's back much good!!

Great to see MM go for it :)

Still no sign of Taylor. Interesting that posters on here have even stopped talking about him.

He must be finished at Town methinks.
