Derby Moves Back to Saturday and On Sky
Monday, 7th Jul 2014 12:56

Town’s home derby against Norwich City has moved to Saturday 23rd August with a 12.15pm kick-off and will now be shown live on Sky.

On Friday, following a meeting of interested parties, Suffolk Constabulary recommended that the game should switch back to the Saturday, having previously moved to noon on Sunday 24th August.

Town's opening day of the season match at home to Fulham on Saturday 9th August is also live on Sky with a 5.15pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, the Town squad has arrived in Ireland for their training camp at the Carton House hotel in Co Kildare. Manager Mick McCarthy is understood to have remained behind to meet with prospective new signing Jonathan Parr, who is due at the club today.

The Blues play Dublin side Shelbourne at Tolka Park in their first friendly on Saturday 12th July (KO 3pm).

Why put out a fixtures list, why don't we all turn up when we feel like it. SKY is ruining Football.

docsavage52 - sky have merely changed it from a 12.45 kickoff to a 12.15 kick off, if that's ruining football compared with the money they put in to give clubs such as ourselves another source of revenue than i guess your right

"Pre match day prices start from £32" for adult tickets. That's A LOT of money, especially when the match is on Sky TV.

The club have kept the £2.50 on the day surcharge, and it looks like prices are the same as last year.

Now that the game is (hopefully) confirmed, all I can think about is how excited I am about this game. After an absolutely shambolic England performance at the world cup, I'd celebrate like we won the whole thing if we stuffed the budgies.

To quote Keegen: Id love it if we beat them, LOVE IT.

On the basis that this was always likely to be picked by Sky, why didn't the club wait first before announcing the first change on a Sunday, then they wouldn't look so stupid when it was switched back to the Saturday again!!

Sky does not usually bode too well for us. Still, if we do manage to humilliate them all the better for it being on the box

Two home games on SKY in the first month! Think we only had one at home on SKY all last season?

Twice in first month on Sky. Have they finally realised that Leeds are useless! Seriously ,its good for me as I umpire League cricket until the end of August and can at least record the game now. Not as good as using my season ticket for what will probably be the biggest (and noisiest) crowd of the season. COYB

Only Norwich could walk into a gag.
I see they have appointed Ricky Martin as Technical Director, just loved it when he sang Livin la Vida Loca....... LOL

Whilst Saturday is better for a derby I do wish the club had not announced anything before it was finalised.

I bought tickets for something else but only when the switch to a Sunday game was actually announced. Then they switch back to Saturday. Poor way to treat people.

Oh well, 85 quid wasted. Live and learn

It is indeed disappointing the way it has been handled.
