Tunnicliffe Linked With Return Monday, 1st Sep 2014 16:25 Town are reported to have renewed their interest in former loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe with Blackburn Rovers also said to be targeting the midfielder. The 21-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan with the Blues from Manchester United before he was sold to Fulham in January. Having made two starts for the Cottagers, the manager who signed him, his former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen, was sacked. The Mancunian has featured only once as a sub under his successor Felix Magath and he was sent out on loan to Wigan at the end of January when the Blues also showed interest in bringing him back to Portman Road. Any move is likely to be a loan with Tunnicliffe contracted until the summer of 2017. At Thursday's press conference, Blues boss Mick McCarthy said there was the possibility of a player coming in on loan before tonight's 11pm deadline. The former England U16 and U17 international made 24 starts and five sub appearances in his spell with the Blues without scoring.
