Mings and Hyam Return for Charlton Clash
Monday, 29th Dec 2014 14:29

Tyrone Mings and Luke Hyam are both fit and available for Tuesday evening’s home game against Charlton (KO 7.45pm). Mings is over the infected toe which has seen him miss the last two matches, while Hyam has been out for a month with an achilles problem.

“Tyrone’s fit, they’re all fit, Luke Hyam as well. They all trained today, it’s been great,” manager Mick McCarthy said.

The Blues boss says Mings won’t necessarily walk straight back into his team with Jonny Parr having impressed in his absence.

“No, nobody does, not at all,” McCarthy added. “It’s a nice problem to have that.”

The Blues manager is pleased to have Hyam back: “Luke has been out since the Charlton game a month ago, but he’s a fit guy.

“It’s taken him a while that achilles, it’s been a really niggly one, but it’s good to have him back.”

Hyam similarly faces a battle to get into the side with Cole Skuse and Teddy Bishop having combined well in the centre of midfield in his absence.

“It’s difficult to get into the team,” McCarthy continued “We’ve got Dean Gerken who is sat on the sidelines who has been outstanding for us.

“He knows he can’t get back in because Bart has been equally outstanding having got into the team. That’s a good problem to have.”

Great news. However, I would not be surprised to see us start with and unchanged team.

Hang on tight. I think it's gonna be an exhilarating ride!! Roll on the middle of May 2015.
MM & TC both walk on water!!

You just know that one of Hyam or Mings is going to be back in, but I would hope that we play an unchanged team. There's no need to change the team. We have been playing very well. Hyam is tenacious and adds bite, but skuse/bishop has worked well and parr has done well with Mings out

Mings is great, but Parr has done very well. Tough one!

Hope we don't pair Hyam and Skuse together. One of the two certainly, but not both, especially at the expense of Bishop or Bru.

Leave Mings for the cup match, sure he'd be fired up for that one.

I would put Mings on the bench. He would be a useful sub to bring on for the last half hour when Charlton legs are beginning to tire.

I think Mings simply has to come back in for Parr.

Cannot change a team that has been so dominant over last two games against two top of the table sides .
Also think Bart has made the difference to our side from last year with Gerks, too many dropped points or errors cost us last season

Defensively,...i think Parr is a better player but he hasn't got a faintless idea what to do with the ball when going forward unlike Ming.
