Mings, Bru and Tabb Return
Saturday, 14th Feb 2015 14:12

Tyrone Mings, Kevin Bru and Jay Tabb return to the Town starting line-up facing Fulham at Craven Cottage with Jonny Parr and Stephen Hunt dropping to the bench, and Darren Ambrose, who picked up a hamstring niggle in the 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, missing out.

Bru looks set to start alongside Cole Skuse in the centre of midfield with Teddy Bishop on the right. Freddie Sears will continue up front with Daryl Murphy.

Dean Gerken is replaced on the bench by Paddy Kenny, the former Colchester man having picked up a hand injury, while David McGoldrick didn’t make the trip having missed the Owls match with a thigh problem.

Dylan Connolly is on the bench for the first time, while Cameron Stewart travelled but missed out on a place in 18. Adam McDonnell, still unavailable as his clearance from FIFA is yet to come through, also made the trip.

Former England international Scott Parker is back in the Fulham starting line-up, alongside ex-Blues loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe.

Fulham: Bettinelli, Richards, Hutchinson, Bodurov, Stafylidis, Christensen, Tunnicliffe, Parker, Kačaniklić, Rodallega, McCormack. Subs: Kiraly, Burn, Grimmer, Fofana, Roberts, Ruiz, Woodrow.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Bru, Bishop, Tabb, Murphy, Sears. Subs: Kenny, Parr, Clarke, Anderson, S Hunt, Connolly, N Hunt. Referee: Mark Haywood (West Yorkshire).

Got to feel for Parr, I doubt he will settle for this long term.

Harsh on Parr I think, who had a good game left of midfield on Tuesday and is a better prospect in that position than Tabb

Must admit not a fan of tabs, he works so hard but not good enough quality, think he's a bit of a negative change, not sure why part and mings don't start at each full back

Don't know which way this will go but a must win or all of a sudden dropping out of the playoffs is very likely!

FFS- is he having a laugh! Why oh why has he dropped Jonny for inch high! Parr was superb on Tues. This favouritism gets on my t..s! We will lose a very gd fullback/utility player if he continues to get dropped. F......g disgrace. Tabb has been sh..e for weeks and Jonny has a great game and is replaced! Micks ideas don't make sense at times! Sorry, it's lets go for a point and get none rather than try to get three. Should be up and at em like we did at Brentford!

I said earlier that MM. was hinting of changes, to bring one of his favours back in??? Ambrose fair enough if he is carrying a strain, but Parr on bench Goodness me !!!!
Anyway if we get the win !!!! who cares !!

Although I too think Parr deserves to start. But I think it's for a reason - I think Mick might be matching their diamond midfield. Wouldn't be surprised to see Skuse CDM, Bru and Tabb CM, and Bish AM

I suppose this will be the day that rodallega and McCormack will show up for the first time this season like texiera, sammon, Derbyshire, grabban etc etc

Come on town... I think we have to score the first two goals to get anything from this game today

Really Mick ??? Wtf are you doing ??? Tabb ??? youte having a laugh. Bish right midfield. When will you learn. Play the right players in the right positions. So hope I'm wrong but you're letting 4k of us down again with your selection. Madness.

As our squad is small its very simply that Parr offers a better choice as sub ,ie left mid ,left back right back right mid. He is versatile. However on the basis a manager should always pick his strongest side Parr should start.

Precisely it, he's not playing 442 so Parr not included, not a reflection on Tuesday, different formation which is more attacking, almost 433 with Bish just behind, which is what most wanted yet still not right!

i wrote a post after tuesdays game when everyone was congratulating MM and fair enough he deserved it, but i said dont judge him on that game but the next one, I predicted Tabb back in and parr of the bench, he must be shaking his head in disbelief, well actually both Tabb and Parr.Untouchable Tabb must train like a Trojan

It's clearly about versatility across the midfield. If ambrose was fit, I think he'd be in for tabb and then no one would be moaning.
Also, people mention Brentford...pretty sure tabb played that day, and played well. Give the guy a chance! He's been out the team and could come back in raring to go!!

Agree with others who have said that it's harsh on Parr, who played well in the Sheffield game!! If he wanted to play Mings he could have played Parr wide left as he did during the 2nd half the other night. Plus Bishop is wasted out on the right, he's a centre mid and not a winger

Think Mick's trying to match their diamond. We're playing 4 centre mids...

If you think about it Mick has gone with Tabb and Bishop on the wings to counteract Fulhams narrow midfield diamond, Fulham don't play with wide men in that midfield and I don't think Tabb and Bishop are in there to get out to the wings. Tabb is the obvious choice to play that narrow left midfield position in this game where as Parr is more of an out and out left back or left winger who hugs the touchline.

GerkinsBeard - I went to all the trouble of logging in, just before Kick-off, to say thank you for a voice of reason. 15.07 have we scored yet?

Not surprised Mick brings in his fav a bit more defensive minded.Yes I agree Parr should be on the left with Mings thats our best left side in attack and defending.Glad to see Sears in but would that have been the case if Dids was ok interesting.
