Bradford Confirm Ando Signing
Saturday, 1st Aug 2015 12:17

Bradford City have confirmed the signing of former Blue Paul Anderson on a two-year deal, TWTD having revealed the League One side’s interest in the 27-year-old on Monday.

Anderson will be involved with the Bantams for the first time when they take on Burnley in a pre-season friendly this afternoon.

The former Liverpool trainee, who had been training with Scunthorpe, was told no contract was on offer at Town at the end of last season but that a deal might be on the table later in the summer. However, no new terms were forthcoming.

Anderson joined the Blues in a swap deal which saw Jay Emmanuel-Thomas move in the opposite direction in the summer of 2013 and went on to make 45 starts and 26 sub appearances, scoring seven goals, the last in the home leg of last season’s play-off against Norwich City.

Strange one for me, never liked his skill always loved his attitude. Best of luck to him.

He should do ok at Bradford. If he can play more directly than he did here (i.e. Less emphasis on having to protect his full back) he should excel at this level.

I liked Ando - always gave his best, but lacked the cutting edge that you look for in a winger. Surprised he's dropped down to Division 1 though. Good luck - and thanks for THAT goal especially!

Anderson was top of the clubs Assists chart for the 2014/15 season. Amazing another Champ side didn't pick him up, and the fact Henshall and Stewart are still here while hes not, having contributed nothing.

If we had played him at right back , he would of been the best right back in the league.

Not strong enough, not good enough.

I'm not surprised a championship side didn't take him.

Good luck to him though, he gave us one of the best moments we've seen for a while against Norwich.

I was still kind of hoping we would pick him up come the end of the transfer window, not that I thought he was overally amazing but he did a job.
At least we don't have to face him as ex players always seem to turn it up against us.

Good luck Ando.

Of those released,he(and maybe Hewitt)will be the most missed in my opinion.

Good luck Ando. It's a shame he never played like the two games against Norwich more often otherwise he'd be a good player. I think he's a great signing for League One.

His contract was up and we have players on longer term contract that can play his position.
MM and the club have invested in youth (Connelly, Henshall, Stewart) so they should be given a fair chance to show their talents.

Best of luck Ando, I hope to see u back in Champ very soon.

Just not good enough for the Championship. Will be interesting to see if JET does anything at QPR, managed something like 30 goals in 2 seasons at Bristol City, how many did Anderson score

I'd probably rather we had kept Ando rather than look to sign Macinuff. It's horses for courses but Ando is younger, probably fitter, certainly passionate and always gives 100%. Good luck to him.
