The difference between teams with this is scary!
You expect the relegated teams to pay more as they're getting parachute payments, but how have Forest spent 6x what we did on agents - and they've been under a transfer embargo?!!?!?

These figures are in my opinion quite staggering and proves that its not just player fees that send Clubs into financial difficulties. Very pleasing that we appear to have been fairly sensible in this direction.

Just sums it up really. Although I'm not a fan of paying agent fees, it's worrying how little we have invested really and shows we opted for cheap options.

Well that's £26 mill that football will never see again!! Think it's disgusting that so much money is wasted in this way. I wonder what would have if agents didn't get paid? Our bank balance would be a little healthier!

Shows why football outside the Premier league is suffering and teams in the lower league's are folding. Money is going in the wrong directions. Over 26 million just in Championship that has gone out of football, that is just so wrong.

Is it that the word "Agent", is now so tainted and associated with financial "profiteering" at the expense of clubs and their supporters, that that somebody (in the FA?) decided it would be a good idea to change their name to a new softer, more politically correct sounding title?

That's typical of Football nowadays. Rather than try to sort of areas of foul practice or curb the financial excesses that costs football so dear, particularly outside of the Prem, they go for a name change!!!

Note to Tyrone's Agent: Some clubs only pay on Statement. Send them a Statement. If that doesn't work, phone them every day.
And Cressy's Agent: Did you miss a payment?
Don't believe these figures.

Oops, a dram too many. Those payments would have been made by Bournemouth and West Ham respectively - if they have paid.

I work with a football agent and can reassure you the hours they put in is staggering. Some will always cream off the top, but my colleague earns every penny. I always ask him to send us the gems he finds. He is also a scout for Scotland and a number of clubs. I recommended Ryan Fraser.for the Scotland squad and he sent strachan a text there and then.

Why do players need agents just seems pointless to me

I'm sure agents are essential for the smooth running of the game and I'm sure they work very hard (no-one earns decent money without working hard), but these sums paid out to agents are simply staggering.

And yet Ipswich will always be deluded into feeling a sense of entitlement to competing with the top sides ! I like all of you am a town fan I love the club. However realistically to even be competing with the top 6 credit has to go to mick McCarthy ! It's difficult for ME as he's had his fingers burned by clegg Keane and Jewell. Let's just relax enjoy the passion and commitment That the current team show while out on the pitch, back the boys and cross our fingers for another exciting play off campaign

" Why do players need agents just seems pointless to me "

To get them the best deal possible.

The Seth Johnson story I'm sure you've all heard over the years sums it up - Seth and his agent wanted £20,000 p/w when he went to Leeds. That's what they were holding out for.

They got talking - apparently ( heard this off loads of people ) Risdale offered £30k. They were both bewildered and asked to leave the room - the agent twigged Risdale was so clueless with wages that he told Seth " we'll go for £35k and get it " - legend has it, they went back in and got exactly what they wished.

Agents are a bloody nuisance, but so are the idiots who hand out the deals.

Look at Keane - apparently no one wanted to move to Suffolk. Thought'we'd signed Priskin for £450,000 but was told it was 4 x that.

Jewell would throw ££££ down the toilet. Ellington 2 year contract anyone.

Now we have Mick - now people may not like the guy but he sure as hell won't be had over a barrel in this way. Smart and streetwise as you like.

Do people not understand that without player agents transfers wouldn't happen?? So people who say this money is wasted is just wrong.

Also this doesn't show we're not investing in to the club, it shows (like with everything we do) the club is very good at business!!!

We should refuse to sign any player that uses an agent. Youth team players should be told that if they hook up with an agent that is a dismissable offence. Cleat these pernicious scum out of the game.

Clearly you have never sold a house and asked the estate agent to get you the best price. Not have you ever used a recruiter to get you a higher salary.

Do you not have to BUY a player to pay an agents fee???

Currie10 added 21:07 - Nov 30
Is Daley just someone always on the wind up looking to collect as many down arrows as he possibly can? Never heard one positive thing uttered out of his mouth.

No wayway - agents get a %%% of signing on fees..
