Town are showing interest in Académica right-back Christopher Oualembo, according to a report in the Portuguese press.

French-born Oualembo who has been capped nine times by the Democratic Republic of Congo, is out of contract at the end of the season and could move on in January with a number of Championship clubs including the Blues interested, according to Record.

The 28-year-old was a youth player with Paris St-Germain and represented their B team before joining US Quevilly in 2006.

The 5ft 10 in tall full-back subsequently played for Spanish club Levante’s B team, Italian side Monza, in Bulgaria with Chernomorets Burgas and in Poland for Lechia before joining Académica in Portugal in the summer of 2014.

Right Back?....now there's a thought......

Really......surely not a RIGHT BACK! Good things come to those who wait, and all that ! On another note, looking to me, McCarthy don't fancy Parr, and if so, why the heck not?

What do we know about this guy? As fans nothing. Have to stick with chambers for another while. @warktheline my old pal. Think the problem with parr has to be injuries. On another side we dont see the effort on the training pitch so who knows.

Whilst LC is a decent cover player, he's settled and doing a decent enough job.

If we get another RB in, they have to either 1) ready to go - and they are expensive, or 2) one for next season - and we will be in the Premier League by then!

Could this be the first right back since David Wright? If this isn't just idle rumour, then it's good to know we're looking.

Parr is in fact a left back, who like Chambers, can play out of position if required.

Interesting, I actually think Chambers has looked much better at right back lately and wouldn't be disappointed to see him play there, competition always helps though.

What's wrong with Malarczyk?

In the ITFC annual my kids got for Christmas it says Cole Skuse plays midfield and right back.
I think he'd make an awesome right back, he's cool headed, reasonably quick and good in a tackle.
I think he's too one dimensional as a midfielder but has shown resilience and has (touch wood) been relatively injury free.

Looks like a decent player! Great awareness on and off the ball, though not sure how the standard compares to the Championship in the YT Video.

The skill at 1:14 though...

Would he get his head on the end of crosses in the last minute of Boxing Day matches is what I'd like to know.

i would prefer to know if he could get his head onto simple crosses that lead to boxing day goals-yes he made amends later

Hmm,looks like another journeyman, who wouldn't cost much if anything;so could be true.

If he came however would he just be like Malarczyk,Alabi,Toure,Coke or Parr, none of whom have been given much first team time.

I realise however that Toure and Parr have had injury problems, and Coke to me doesn't seem good enough for Championship football.

Mick obviously doesn't like the Polish fella either...as well as Parr (unless Mick knows something we don't and that's Parr will leave in January).

5ft 10 seems a bit short. Lestibbetsbrokenleg the man was an absolute icon RIP.

Doubt if this is true but if it is then don't bother coming - you will never displace one of MM favorites, let alone his captain.

No we're not actually interested in a right back . We've had more managers than right backs recently. Our last right back is assistant manager at Colchester it's been that long . You never know MM might be after a right footed centre half soon . Oh I forgot we got one forgot the square pegs in round holes rule .
