Wednesday, 13th Jan 2016 11:17

Academy trio Andre Dozzell, Nick Hayes and Ben Morris have all been named in the England U17 squad taking part in the Algarve Tournament in Portugal next month.

Midfielder Dozzell, son of former Blue and current academy coach Jason, has previously won six caps at U17 level, while keeper Hayes has won two.

Striker Morris, who has scored 12 goals for the U18s this season and has also featured for the U21s, has not previously received an international call.

The England youngsters face the hosts on February 5th, then Germany two days later and finally Holland on February 9th.

Elsewhere, the Blues' U18s won 5-1 away against AFC Sudbury last night in a friendly.

Meanwhile, young midfielder Monty Patterson has returned to the club after an extended stay back home in New Zealand as he closes in on a return from the ankle injury which required surgery in August.

Great news for the Lads and the Club.
Glad to see the recovery made from the Keane days when he destroyed the previously excellent academy.

Bossman:Wonder what if anything is happening about our Cat1 status.Last year I heard Mr Milne say that they were still going to apply;but the criteria was being changed, and they hadn't been able to ascertain the FA's new requirements.Strange!
