Moore Nets 11th of Loan Spell
Saturday, 21st Oct 2017 18:14

On-loan Blues striker Kieffer Moore netted his 11th goal of the season as Rotherham drew 3-3 at Oxford United.

The 25-year-old, League One’s top scorer, grabbed the Millers’ third goal in the 78th minute to claim a point.

Speaking on Thursday, Rotherham boss Paul Warne, whose side are fifth, said he would talk to Town manager Mick McCarthy about his January plans for Moore this week.

The former Forest Green Rovers man is on a season-long loan with the South Yorkshiremen but with the Blues able to cut the spell short in January, as is the case with right-back Josh Emmanuel, who also played the full 90 minutes for the Millers today.

Elsewhere, Adam McDonnell played the whole game for Aldershot who equalised on 80 then grabbed a 95th minute winner as they defeated Tranmere 2-1 at home in the Vanarama National League. Fellow Blue George Fowler wasn’t included in the matchday squad.

Another young Town defender, Chris Smith, played the full 90 minutes for Chelmsford as they beat Dartford 1-0 at home in the National League South, despite being reduced to 10 men in the 19th minute.

Meanwhile, the Blues remain 10th going into tomorrow's East Anglian derby following today's fixtures but Norwich - a point ahead of Town - dropped a place to ninth.

Am I surprised ? - NO. Would he be getting the same service, and played to his strengths with us ? - NO. Stay where you are and keep bangng the goals in, unlike McCarthy - other Managers will be aware and interested in what you're obviously capable of.

Even if he doesn't make it with us... his value would have gone up 10 fold already.

I half agree with you blueboy, however I think he will have no choice but to stay where he is as 20 goals by December will not persuade Mick to play him. Mick will not play to his strengths as that means wingers like Celina playing and some creativity in the middle of the park. To play for Mick he firstly needs a nickname and be capable of defensive duties or playing on the wing.

Mick is clearly aware of what he's capable of he bought him in the first place... mcgoldrick playing behind him could be very interesting no need to cash out in January maybe bring him back and see what he can do at a higher level

Come on blueboy, at Rotherham Moore is getting exactly the sort of service that you have berated Mick for playing for the last 4 years.

If Moore were hear and we were lumping it up to him we wouldn't hear the end of it from you and you know it.

Now we finally see a move away from a target man and suddenly you want one. Disingenuous.

Think you are just striring the pot there.

Good on yer Big Kief! Let him see the season out at Rotherham to see if he can get them promoted. Then consider his sale.

It is funny really because if he was a permanent Rotherham players he is exactly the type of striker Mick would have his eye on. I think come Jan we will have to evaluate where we are and if Moore will get proper game time if recalled. Glad to see him hitting this form though as no matter what it is good for us in the long run.

Moore leading scorer in the football league followed by Jack Marriot and Brett Pitman and a coupe of others on 9 I think. Rather says a lot about our great leader, even though these guys are playing one league down the difference isn't that much so all the expected comments re ''found their level'' is bollxs. When was the last time a McCarthey team did well against a lower league team.
Pitman left so I hear due to the fact he was not an rse licker (along with others Tommy Oar etc) & Marriot just wasn't given a chance by our great imbecilic moron manager

Hegansheroes, let's just ignore the fact that when Marriott was with us he only scored goals in the conference...

What happened to the last striker McCarthy accused of "scoring for fun"?

Ironically today we played exactly the type of football that would suit Moore. For that the berrating should begin
