Bradford Confirm Moore Bid
Thursday, 4th Jan 2018 22:09

Bradford City have confirmed that they have made a bid for much-fancied Town striker Kieffer Moore.

Bantams joint-owner Edin Rahic told the Bradford Telegraph and Argus: “It would be stupid if you weren’t in for Kieffer Moore.

"We’ve made an offer and think it was a very good offer, a substantial offer, and we’ll wait. We wouldn’t offer anything disrespectful to Ipswich Town.

“There is a lot of interest and that’s the reason you have to keep cool. We are still League One and you also have to find a way not to upset our own players.

“If others are asking for salaries we don’t pay, we don’t want to change our strategy. We can be successful with our team thinking - we can’t have one star who gets two or three times the money.

“But it is a substantial offer and a competitive one for a League One club when there is also interest from the Championship.

“It’s also down to the player to think about his future. Is there a massive chance with Bradford to go up? Yes.

“Is there a massive chance with other clubs? Probably. Is there a strategy behind the club? Yes again. But that’s up to him.”

Bantams chief operating officer James Mason added: “With the bid, the club have proved their commitment to invest and challenge. But there has to be a ceiling while in League One.

“We cannot undo our whole structure at put ourselves at risk. We can point to costly lessons in the past if we operate this way.”

Bradford were previously known to be among the League One clubs interested in the 25-year-old frontman along with his former loan side Rotherham, who have also confirmed they have made a bid, Scunthorpe, Charlton, Wigan and Peterborough.

Earlier this evening Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony appeared to indicate that Moore is set to join Championship Barnsley, his club having opted not to pursue their interest with, he said, the striker set to be paid nearly £10,000 a week by his new side.

Moore, who scored 13 goals in the first half of the season while on loan with the Millers, joined the Blues for £20,000 from Forest Green Rovers last January and is contracted to Town until the summer but with the club having an option to keep him for a further year.

It's nice seeing clubs fighting over an Ipswich player. We normally have to pay them to leave us.

I'd play for Barnsley for 10k a week.

So that's Bradford, Barnsley, Rotherham and Peterborough who all believe he can help them get to and stay at a higher level. Are our experts so sure he couldn't do job a job in the Championship? Seems like this is all a bit premature just for a few quid.

Carberfy, well they believe he can get them higher but he isn't proven at Championship level at all

Well Barnsley believe he is a Championship player but it appears he won't get the chance to prove it with us. You normally send someone out on loan to give them experience and show what they can achieve with regular game time, to benefit them for a return as a stronger squad player. What has he done wrong?

At least Bradfords owner and management all seem to be going in the same direction and sound sensible which is unusual these days

I know our glorious leader knows players and loves proper blokes but this is now half a dozen clubs all participating in a minor bidding war who all believe me Moore may have something about him yet without giving the lad a proper chance let's let him go you never know he might be worth taking a chance on then again sorry he's not a proper bloke

Forget Moore. Can't we just swap with Bradford. They can spend the rest of the season bored shiitless in Championship No Mans land whilst we have the excitement of a League One promotion challenge. Ah Ok... we will throw in Moore to sweeten the deal!

Moore was brought last year I am guessing to replace Murphy was given 11 sub appearances to prove himself.
Love or hate them MM and TC saw something in him but felt he was not ready for the Championship (big step from Forest Green).

The signing of Garner and Waghorn pushed him out so he was sent out to Rotherham etc etc.
The signing of Darnin who I am guessing that MM and TC see more in him than Moore which makes him surplus to requirements.
Good business buy for 20k and sell for half million plus.
Doubt he is on 10k at Town so he may also said I want to go

That's my theory anyway

If Mcgoldrick is going, which sounds highly likely, surely we want to keep Moore. I really have no idea what is going on at our club anymore, what is the point in Evans owning this club to sit in the championship and loose money each year!? If he is a business man surely he wants to make money, therefore spend some money and take the gamble of gettting promoted. If not sale and f**k off

The words coming from Bradford are refreshing. On the face of it they present themselves very well with much respect for others, which is not how I perceive other clubs who are chasing Moore.
Nice to see Bradford behaving that way and on that basis I hope Moore ends up with them.

Really interesting talk on all the players who may be leaving , where are the articles on players we are looking at or interested in bringing in to stop our season sliding into tedious mid table flirting with relegation boredom ?
Or will we have the same "its hard to get players through the door in Jan " but seemingly easy to sell ?

Surco72 - No-one is talking about selling or buying - from the club. It's all tittle-tattle from 'twtd', the nationals and, in some cases, a few hopeful clubs. This club's policy is never to comment on forthcoming deals - whether buying or selling. You should know that by now. It's enough, though, to get all of you making comments and that's partly the aim of twtd and the other media. That's their job.
And why do some of you assume that if we do sell that we won't buy? As we are knocking in plenty of goals at the moment it would seem sensible to me for the club sell a forward or two if their intention is buy a couple of decent defenders. Why would you assume they won't?
I'm afraid we'll all just have to wait and see. We are supporters - not managers, but all the comments do show how loyal and concerned you all are.

Surco72...one of the few things i like about MM's reign is we never really hear about targets untill they have signed.
