Folami Nets as U23s Win at Bristol City
Friday, 16th Mar 2018 16:01

Ben Folami netted the only goal in the fourth minute as Town’s U23s beat Bristol City, who were reduced to 10 men towards the end, 1-0 at the Stoke Gifford Stadium this afternoon.

Robins keeper Alhaji Sesay was dismissed 12 minutes from time for a two-footed challenge.

The game was a rearranged fixture postponed earlier in the month due to the weather.

Meanwhile, the Blues’ U18s are in action against Huddersfield at Playford Road on Saturday morning (KO 11am). Last week’s U18s fixture at Leeds was postponed.

U23s: Wright, D Crowe, Cotter, Goteni, Clements, McLoughlin, Blanchfield, Ndaba, Brown, Folami, McKendry.

Maybe he should hang around as might need him tomorrow! Folami seems to have fallen out of favour as he had such a good start to the season or perhaps he's been injured too!

Well done lads, hopefully the first team can replicate that result tomorrow.

I'm interested to see if any of the U23 strikers can step up to fill the gap with Garner and McGoldrick being out and given our inability to score at Portman Road. Morris? Drinan? Folami?

We might as well give them a game or two to find out.

I cant believe how many players Ipswich continually have out injured;so surely this is the
ideal time to put in one or two younger players who have come through the youth set up,as we have nothing left to play for this season ?

Our creative midfielders are all injured, and I have thought for a long while that we need a big target man to replace Murph.I don't want Ipswich to be a'Land of the Giants',neither a 'Land of the Dwarfs'which we were in the last game;especially when we still tend to use high balls. Not as much as previously because we don't have a player who can make the ball stick up front.

Don't think I am advocating 'The Hoof'just nice to mix it up a bit,and we don't always have the various options at the moment.
