Collins, Bishop, Emmanuel, Quaner and Dozzell Start at Bolton
Saturday, 6th Apr 2019 14:24

James Collins, Teddy Bishop, Josh Emmanuel, Collin Quaner and Andre Dozzell all start as Paul Lambert makes five changes for the game at Bolton Wanderers.

James Bree, Trevoh Chalobah, Toto Nsiala and Kayden Jackson drop to the bench, while Jon Nolan misses out due to the achilles injury he suffered in the 2-0 home defeat to Hull City last weekend.

Will Keane made the trip but is not included in the 18, along with Jonas Knudsen.

Emmanuel makes his second start of the season at right-back with Collins alongside skipper Luke Chambers at centre-half.

In midfield, Dozzell and Bishop are either side of Cole Skuse in a midfield which could become familiar next season in League One.

Alan Judge, fresh from signing his new contract, and Gwion Edwards will be either side of lone central striker Quaner up front.

Bolton are unchanged from the team which won 2-1 at QPR last weekend with the players having returned to training on Thursday following a 48-hour walkout in solidarity with unpaid off-field staff.

The players remain unpaid, while there is no hospitality and although the IT problems overnight were rectified Wanderers’ email system wasn’t working ahead of the game.

Bolton: Matthews, Taylor, Beevers, Olkowski, Connolly, Wheater, Ameobi, Buckley, O’Neil, Williams, Magennis. Subs: Alnwick, Little, Oztumer, Donaldson, Noone, Wilson, Connell.

Town: Bialkowski, Emmanuel, Chambers (c), Collins, Kenlock, Skuse, Bishop, Dozzell, Edwards, Judge, Quaner. Subs: Gerken, Chalobah, Jackson, Downes, Nsiala, Bree, El Mizouni. Referee: Peter Bankes (Merseyside).

Bit unfortunate for Nisala who seemed to be getting some form only for injury prone Collins when fit to take his place, glad to see Bish and Emmanuel making another start, let's hope Dozzell can make a bit more of an impact against a fellow league one outfit.

Cracking team apart from Quaner.

Looks like a tip toward next year.....

Disappointed Nsiala has again been dropped as he is the future of this club next season.
Will miss Chalobah's drive in the middle, winning headers, tackling and passing the ball (forward).
Why not try 2 up front. and if one, why Quaner who is not our striker.
PLs tactics baffle me
If we are not playing Chalobah because he is a loan then don't play Quaner, he isn't ours either. I thought Keane was fit for this one ???

4 home grown players in the starting 11 and 2 on the bench. I suspect Collins in for Nsiala is because of Bolton's style of play. Feels like the Rorherham game when Collins was immense. Bolton not blessed with pace up front. Jackson will surely replace Quaner at some point in the match when Bolton's ageing centre backs tire.

You can't of watched us play this season if you think that Skuse is good enough or you just like the guy. He was highly unprofessional under Hurst basically refused to try. Even now just take look at the 2nd goal for Hull last week has been a story of his season no where near the pace makes the weakest tackle then walks back meant to be protection to the defense hardly.

Give me the opinion of a manager anyday over the armchair posters.

He had been choosing Chalobah over him so by that logic he doesn't rate him.

A 19 year old that has matched his career goals in his first season of professional football
