U18s in Holland Wednesday, 31st Jul 2019 09:58 Town’s U18s are continuing their pre-season in Holland for the next week and a half. The young Blues and seven other EFL clubs’ U18s squads are on a pre-season trip which runs until Sunday 11th August. Subsidised by the Erasmus+ fund, the visit is aimed at promoting development and exchanging skills and ideas between players and coaches. Around 150 players from the Blues, Barnsley, Burton Albion, Cheltenham Town, Lincoln City, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday and Walsall are on the trip hosted by a number of Dutch clubs. Town and coincidentally Saturday’s first-team opponents Burton will be with NAC Breda. In addition to training sessions led by European coaches and fixtures against Dutch clubs such as PSV and Sparta Rotterdam, and a tournament, the players will take language lessons, visit the Overloon War Museum, watch an Eredivisie match, play footgolf and will be given a tour of the Johan Cruyff ArenA.
