Quintet Could Win Caps
Tuesday, 19th Nov 2019 09:53

Andre Dozzell, Flynn Downes, Armando Dobra, Ben Folami and Adam Pryzbek could all win caps later today.

Dozzell and Downes are with the England U20s, who are in action against Iceland's U21s at Wycombe Wanderers’ Adams Park this evening. Dozzell has previously won eight U20s caps and Downes five.

Dobra is with the Albanian U19s, who coincidentally also face Iceland in their final European Championships qualifying mini-group game in Belgium. The 18-year-old forward will be hoping to win his seventh U19 cap.

Folami and the Australian U23s take on Lithuania in the final game of their friendly tournament in China. However, Blues assistant manager Stuart Taylor revealed yesterday that the 20-year-old striker had reported a groin problem so may well not be involved.

Young keeper Adam Przybek is with the Wales U21s squad for this evening’s European Championships qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Blues in the summer after leaving West Brom following a trial, has previously won one U21s cap.

I live in Chongqing, so thought I'd go and see Ben Folami and Australia Under 22s against North Korea Under 22s at the weekend. It was actually a pretty decent standard.

Folami had the number 9 shirt on so thought he'd get a game, but spent the entire warm-up on his own with a fitness coach, evidently doing a fitness test, which he obviously failed as he spent the rest of the game in the stands.

Saw him a bit later going into the Ramada hotel, so guess he got a nice few days away with not much football played. He played about 20-30 mins last Friday, I think.

Cheers for that, I couldn't find whether he was involved against North Korea. I think the plan would have been to have started at least one of the other two games as he was a sub - and a scoring sub - against the Chinese.
