Comedian Djalili Gets Acquainted With Town
Sunday, 8th Aug 2021 09:26
Comedian and actor Omid Djalili was at Portman Road yesterday for the Blues’ 2-2 home draw with Morecambe getting acquainted with his new local team.
Djalili, 55, recently moved to Ipswich and said on Twitter how much he enjoyed his first experience of watching Town and also paid tribute to Blues legend Paul Mariner.
West London-born Djalili is a lifelong Chelsea supporter but appears likely to become a regular visitor to Portman Road.

From that picture looks like he say somewhere near where I would have, had I been there.
Love the PM reference... The Ed Sheeran effect in effect?

Good on him.
The more, the merrier. 👍

I’ve heard him a couple of times on radio and he has mentioned in his interviews how he enjoys living in Suffolk. Watching ITFC was only a matter of time! 👍

How the heck he ended up in Ipswich? Not the first place I would say I want to move there (I’m from Ipswich). Must be for the world famous Debenhams … wait a minute.

We’ve upgraded from Griff Rhys jones, Nigel Havers and that chap from the boyband. Spent Xmas at peter Alliss’s house once and chatted to an ex MOTD producer who swore Motty was an Ipswich fan.

Not another glory hunter! ;-)

Monkeyblue. yes, Motty very much a self declared town fan. One of the reasons he hosted the 25 years fa cup celebration do.

Monkey_Blue I doubt very much anybody would invite you round their house at Christmas or, come to that, anytime as you're so God damn negative!!!!

I didn't think comedy was allowed nowadays?
Anyway, I like him and welcome.

Monkey blue, you forgot Brian Cant from playschool!!
|Monkey_Blue added 20:32 - Aug 8|
Trac70….. pathetic. As it goes I worked with his daughter Sara who was my ex wife’s best friend. It’s also why I have two shirts signed by Sir Bobby as Sara worked for his agent at one point. One of them is warky’s away shirt from the 91/92 season, signed by him first of course. Does it make you feel good to insult me without even knowing me? Probably does and highlights the problem with social media and people thinking you can’t have different opinions.

Blues1. This as before he retired. He never openly admitted to an allegiance except I think to some non league side as he felt it would be unprofessional. I also recall he stuck £5k in when we were in administration but can’t swear to that.

SheptonMalletBlue….. too true, also forgot Tom Chaplin. Lead singer of Keane. He was at Millwall away one Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. Not in a box, just with us negative fans on a freezing day, supporting what at the time was an average team at a hostile ground Trac70

Eric Morecambe in the away end.
