Released Town defender Levi Andoh has joined Vanarama National League North side Buxton.

The 22-year-old made his debut in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Hereford, the club where the defender was on loan during the first half of last season.

Andoh left the Blues at the end of 2021/22 and spent time on trial with Portsmouth in pre-season but without winning a contract.

The Dutch-born full-back or centre-half joined Town in January 2020 after a trial having previously played in non-league with Worcester City and Solihull United.

Andoh's only first-team appearance while at Portman Road was in the EFL Trophy at Crawley in November 2020.

Of those who left in the mass clear out only four (Gibbs, Downes, Dozzell, McGuinness) have gone on to better things. Two (Wilson and Bishop) went sideways (to other League One clubs), the rest went down or out altogether. Quite frankly, it shows what dross Paul Lambert had to work with.

joyousblue added 11:01 - Aug 23 Micky 1560 ,I like to know how young players do to , like you I'm a true blue home and away , but I can't see what that brings to the table , I'd rather trust in the players we feel good enough to keep rather than the ones not deemed good enough , of course there welfare is important , as is anyone but I have no interest in how they get on as long as they do my choice

jas1972 added 13:15 - Aug 23 Ipswichbusiness - Mark McGuiness was never our player. He was on loan for the season from Arsenal, who still hold his registration. He is at Sheffield Wednesday at the moment, again on loan. Makes the stats look even worse.

Ipswichbusiness added 12:02 - Aug 24 Jas1972; according to his Wikipedia entry he signed a three year deal with Cardiff last year and is now on loan from them to Sheffield Wednesday. Nonetheless, I take your point; having gone up he has now come down (presumably he failed to establish himself).
